Donuts Harvested not Saved?

Try harvesting a small amount when the clocks reset for daily challenges in one hour (9am here in UK). We can then see if it is perhaps a daily cap. Try bursts of 50-100. Then see if it saves and if so when it stops saving bonuts.

If this doesn't work then it may be the reserve donuts are too high/capped. Or as suggested your account has been flagged.

    Just a thought :/

Yeah I will try that today. It seemed to be working during that slot yesterday for a small window

Let us know how you get on.

I too have had a case closed and sent to the development team ...never to be heard from again. I think they do this when they really have no idea what's causing the issue. As suggested if there is a cap the support team probably don't know about it or are not allowed to say.

Has anyone with this issue tried what I call a "clean install"?
Close game, go to game settings, clear cache (if applicable), un-install game, turn off device, wait 15 to 30 seconds, turn on device, install. Do NOT touch screen other than to enter your age and accept license until ALL files have downloaded.
I tell people to do this over in the answers.ea.com forum all the time and it's helped at least some people with their issues.

I just experienced this same loss of donuts - closed the game with exactly 2000 donuts and when I reopened 20 minutes later my total was only 1911 donuts. This is approximately +1000 donuts from 24 hours ago. A set of rainbow fire hydrants that I purchased during the previous session did not disappear.

Now... same again, twice. Made more donuts, closed game but total is back down to 1911 both times when I reopened TSTO, so I'm stuck there for now! :(
  • Certainly looks like a donut cap now :/

I usually find when I go to the EA support site, the only option is to raise a ticket, that they ignore and close without any response. Today, however, the only option was telephone (UK 020 3014 1818), so I just spent 25 minutes discussing the issue with them (or, mostly, waiting whilst the call handler had a chat with a specialist) after which they had no answers so couldn't do anything immediately but would raise a ticket for further investigation.

My expectations were pretty low, yet surpassed even that as I just re-checked the EA support site and see they simply replied with link to this forum then closed the ticket as "resolved"! :/

I'm going to try and address several of the questions/comments made in this thread including "problem with the device", "syncing", "high percentage bonus" and "donut cap".
First of all I want to say... it's disingenuous to see posts that say this is a cheater's problem. I have not cheated, not by any means. I earned my percentage bonus through legitimate game play moves that EA has in place. I know my game is clean and that I have not done anything deceitful or dishonest.
Speaking for myself, my recent experiences have been:
    • I have 3 games that I can log into. One is my daily, regular game. Two are games that I inherited long ago from people who lost interest but had invested money in them.
    • Of these 3 games, donuts have been lost in 2 of them. One lost hundreds, the other one lost 2. I have not logged into the 3rd game.
    • Of the 2 games that I logged into, one has a healthy bonus percentage and the other is at about 136%.
    • None of the 3 games I can log into are played on the same device (they are all separate) and none of them have ever been played on a phone.
    • If you can purchase 2400 donuts in the game for $99.99, I sincerely doubt this is a donut cap issue. Does that mean EA wouldn't allow you to buy 2 "boatloads" of donuts in the same hour? In the same day? How about 3 or 4 boatloads? Would they really say... "oh no, you've spent too much money!" Think about that. I'm sorry, but I don't believe this is a donut cap issue. Jmo, though.

I lost donuts yesterday not through farming, but from collecting $ and xp when tasks/jobs were completed. That's the very basis of this game. I lost donuts when I collected on 4 hour tasks, 8 hour tasks, 24 hour tasks.. it didn't matter. My daily challenge invovled a donut as a reward. I lost that one as well.
I played my game this morning as I do every morning. I earned donuts from collecting $ and xp on jobs performed overnight. I went and visited a few friends, came back into my town and the donuts were still there. I exited the game completely, went back in and they were still there. I have no idea if this is a temporary fix or if the problem has resolved itself.

I hope it was just a glitch before and that you keep the donuts today :)

I always lose lots of donuts every day to game crashes when collecting $ and XP from jobs and buildings plus more from the way the game miscalculates bonus rounds from farming. This happens repeatedly but I've simply come to accept it, because I could still make and keep a lot of donuts too; but this new issue is different -- a hard stop on earning donuts takes away the incentive to play.

Can only hope it does reset each day, or that we can figure out whatever the restrictions are for ourselves, since having spent quite awhile today investigating the official EA provided support I find it all hopeless -- either dead end tickets or links that take you round in circles. Good luck anyone that has an issue with real money spent on EA products!

It may be that purchased donuts are being treated differently to those won in the game; it might be possible to keep 2400 from a boatload unaffected by whatever is causing us this new issue.

Ok I would like to report my findings for the last two days.

So I started noticing the problem on the 13 Jul 2017 around NY time 3 am plus. I didnt know what was going on and I thought my eyes were tricking me. But soon I realised that I lost almost 1000 donuts due to this fault. I stopped playing the games for many hours.

On 14 Jul 2017, I resumed playing around I think after 4 am NY time. This is also the timing where usually new act or daily challenge kicks in and noted that the fault had gone away. I was able to collect like 1004 donuts from that window and after that the fault kicks in and donuts earned were lost. This fault persisted throughout the rest of the hours.

On 15 Jul 2017, I resumed playing around 10 am NYT. I noted that the fault has gone away again. I managed to collect 998 donuts before the fault kicks in and an excess of 72 donuts were taken away. This batch of donuts were collected via about 5 syncs by going into Krustyland. In the last sync, the game cut off an excess of 72 donuts so that the total I got is 998 donuts.

I use rat trucks to earn donuts.

My hypothesis now is that EA is capping the amount of donuts you can earn per day to around 1000 donuts and the clock starts at 4 am NY time. The time where daily challenge kicks in.

Do share your observations if you are also encountering this fault.

EA still did not reply me.

    This is a game changer..

Thanks 168sean168 that's good info. I generally agree with your hypothesis although the problem started for me sometime after daily challenge time, so that might not be my reset point (or maybe it doesn't reset unless you actually hit the limit, as I made slightly fewer than 1000 donuts in 24 hours by daily challenge time but would have passed 1000 in 24 hours a little later when I noticed the issue).

This is a weird issue. Just wanted to throw in that I've been farming daily but not experiencing this issue. However I'm farming slowly. Batches of 10-20 rat traps at a time, I earn about 40 bonuts for every 10 rat traps. Going up by 120 or so a day without issue.

My multiplier is about 1750 and sitting at around 1400 donuts right now. Farmed from less than 10 donuts (yup I spent them all last event!)

Just visited a page that I don't use, but I'm sure we're all familiar with:

@168sean168, seems your theory on the 1000 max is right:
"Due to a limitation enforced by the game servers, a maximum of 1000 donuts ... at a time."

@Jonalinn my guess is that you are using the same device for all the towns you are testing, perhaps this is related as to why you see the issue in a low multiplier/low farm town as well

ETA: it seems the change doesn't distinguish between legit farming/gameplay and other methods and looks like the time interval is a day so far. My guess is they are able to identify a purchase transaction on the server so that the boatload purchase isn't affected and they blanket assume to reject any high donut amount that isn't related to a purchase transaction.

Based on what you say, could it be that once you accumulated a lot of 1000 donuts, the flag kicks in and then you can only starts earning again in 24 hrs?

I guess something like that, or maybe only clears the flag at daily challenge time if you got the flag set. I'll keep testing and see when it resets for me, currently still stuck - perhaps until tomorrow morning!
