Springfield OCD?

What's the point in playing if you aren't rebuilding/redesigning your I have a couple friends that just pile everything up in neat little piles coordinated by what the objects are. All deco in a nice pile in a corner, all houses lined up side by side, and all larger structures lined up neatly elsewhere. Only one very small strip of road showcasing all characters shoulder to shoulder.
They're up to date on all items, they have all items, one of each, they just don't do anything with them.
Do what you will with your time and money, but how is this fun? Simply collecting?

I'm with you on this one, I really don't get it! The other thing that really boggles my mind is when people spend loads of cash on their town and then they put hardly any effort into it! It's really confusing!

Given there is no puzzle or competition element to the game that does seem totally pointless, the only thing in this "game" (and it is quite incorrect to call it a game) that you have any choice in is the layout, if you dont make any attempt at a town like layout there does seem to be no point. Takes all sorts I guess.

I'm guessing they don't want to farm, but also don't want to design their town until they reach some sort of monetary goal. It's easier to send people on tasks when they are huddled together.

Are you friends with one or all three of my side towns (not going to post the names but they have 987 in them). You have basically just describe them. Everything is packed in a corner and I have I street for all the towns. The reason, they are side towns. I had some extra time between updates and started a couple extra towns.

The reason they are the way they are is because I decided to completely move my town. All my time playing the game is put into my main town. Eventually I will fix these towns.

I have accepted friend request from some people. You can delete me if you want. I don't care. Like I said, they are side towns.

I cannot know if its one of yours specifically. However, that is something that gives an explanation to my question. Like I said, I take on all comers provided that they're playing the game. If I want to see beautiful towns I'll visit the boards or stare at my own
So it is quite possible that these sorts of towns are simply side projects. I can understand that, we all get locked out sometimes.

Wait did you mean to say that you have nearly 1000 alternate towns??

No, 987 is like my user name or part of it. I'm old and use to play standup arcade games when I was younger. When you hit a high score you could only use 3 letters. And my letters were always 987

I don't quite get it either. I have a couple friends who have towns like that. I had assumed that they're tidying up and getting ready for a rebuild, but I haven't seen them change in over a month despite the fact that they play everyday and add new buildings. Part of me thinks that its because they want to do a rebuild and cant seem to get started... so they just keep adding to their neat groups rather than building an actual city.

Few. Okay now that makes sense. Though I have to take exception with the use of the word old. I've played many arcades and pinball in May Day and I wouldn't dream of considering myself old. I suppose it's better than the usual *.

This is one reason why I've never done a re design cos I know once I put everything in a corner it would probably end up staying there for quite some time

Ya. I don't really redesign. I just buy more land and move the town over and down. Just move it in segments.

I have the same situation as you. I have a main town that I put allot of time and effort in to IE: Roads everywhere buildings set up like a real town. But I also have several towns that I started When I was locked out of others and ended up with 11. The other 10 are just as the OP described but I basically dont have any friends on them except my other towns. For some reason I feel compelled to play on all of them but it can be a real job. My Springfield prime is really nice and I am proud of it. Nothing like what I have seen here My grade would be a C because I dont have anything but a simple ordinary town with no crazy 3D stuff or giant designed stuff.
