The City of Springfield/Should EA add City decorations and buildings?

I am trying to do this, but I don't have enought land, I am building the el chemistri restaurant, and I still have to build Buddhist temple and adult annex, but I have made a design for my Springfield on a paper, I made the possible positions of the building and the things I want to do, but I need to redesign it l, because of the new buildings. But it was looking like a city with a place with all the same sized stores in line and streets dividing them, I think it looks nice, but need more stuff from cities, not just houses , we need some high buildings like apartments.

Agreed, it seems like most of these buildings were designed with the intention of creationg a town(which makes sense, because Springfield is a town).

The only thing I can think of is using buildings like the town hall, police station, post office, and library as they are the most "city" looking buildings in my opinion, but it really isnt enough to acheive a consistant theme.

I think it would be so much easier if the buildings turned 360 and we could put stuff on the streets

With future content updates, we will all have more options to make our springfields look the way we want them. Time is of the essence.

I think I've got a pretty good city setup. Things make sense together, I've got a downtown, uptown, main street, stripmall, poor part of town, etc. It's laid out pretty much how I'd layout a real town, so it is possible. More textures for ground and pathways/sidewalks would be welcome though.

Springfield has never been portrayed as a bustling city. Even things like the Isotopes Stadium and Krustylu Studios were shown to be standing out in the middle of an otherwise nondescript area. And if you look at Springfield General Hospital it's the same thing.

Typically when they've been in a big-city setting it's always "Capital City" (Homer & Mindy or Dancin' Homer for example). And then you've got all of the fancy skyscrapers and more city setting.

If you want to group some of those things together to create the idea of a big city, then we'd need more buildings that are like that. Stuff like the Isotopes Stadium or shopping mall.

For flexibility, I'd like to be able to lay pavement in sizes other than the 4x4 square. Then I could build sidewalks and walkways and things that look more big city-like in the areas that I've designated as "Downtown".

This is exactly the kind of thing that I'm talking about.

I would like to see a few traffic lights and some new patio furni with a range of colors(at least more colors than what we have). Maybe when Summer comes, EA might decide to give us some grills that have smoke come out of them. :) Also if they decide to open the water area, have other characters to frequent the beach in swim gear. BTW, last but not least, give the already purchased bldgs some tasks.

Once your town reaches a certain size or you get so many characters, they don't stay on the current paths anyway. More control over where they go or the ability to move them on stationary tasks would be awesome.
