Game crashes, can't play.

:?: Game not loading / Crashing out to main screen

The game loads and you can sign into origin. You may or may not get a notice to say the previous game has not saved and do you want to continue. On pressing continue the game starts to load and freezes on intro screen. You get a blip of sound (now and then) then the game crashes and you are left looking at your home screen.

:thumbup: The following fix is known to work

As provided by mr_relaxo666


Open the game and DO NOT sign into Origin
Start a new anonymous game
Complete the first task and the intro tutorial until you get to the point where you can visit other springfields
Visit the “other springfield” and collect money
Now click on the Origin symbol - bottom left corner - of your friends screen
Sign into YOUR Origin account from there by entering your username and password
This should now connect you to your game again

The fix above has been known to work for at least three people. As yet there are no other solutions to this issue that are known to work.

    Did you see only the other Springfield, or were all your friends there? Try visiting more than one neighbor. I have heard that you may need to visit over 20 friends.

    I'm having the same issue. Just started this afternoon. When tap to continue the donut spins and then shuts down.

    This happens on my main account about 90% of the time when trying to log in, what seems to fix it most of the time is logging in anonymous and logging in through the friend screen like what was described above, however is some cases this does not work for me and im just completely locked out of my game so I just give up then try back ina few hours and usually it would allow me to log in through the anonymous friend page.

    I haven't tried visiting friends before logging in, not sure it that helps but will try it out next time I run into the problem.

    On my main account I have all the land, all the space filled up with decor, 100 friends, and I have to constantly log in through the friend screen, which doesn't always work.

    On my alt account I have about half the land, im almost out of room for any new decor/buildings, I have 0 friends, and I crash occasionally on the loading screen but never have I been forced to go through the friends screen to log in, If it just crashed then i restart the app click to continue and im back in my town.

    Im not sure if this makes a diff but it was only after I got my first harp ( on my main account) that this starting happening.

    I got harped on my alt account too but when it was fairly new and starting off, (i didn't pay much attention to it back then) and the occasional crash occurs at the loading screen but no problems getting in.

    Im just hoping EA fixes this.. im afraid to buy more land or even add friends on my alt account

    O.k. from the anonymous game, I ended up seeing the I see the friends from my account. I'll visited 25 of the towns, then from the friend screen tried logging into my profile. Still crashes in the same spot.

    Currently this is crashing 100% of the time.

    The only thing that wud work for me is waiting a few hours n trying to log in then

    Yeah, I've had the same issue for over a week.

    Save up for the iPhone 5S! That should solve the problem.

    It's been over 30 hrs. Should I wait it out or email ea? If so what's email address or support line?

    I could have done that too, but sometimes reaching out to others who have experienced the same issues and had it resolved works better.

    Considering the e-mail contact info is buried in there, I wouldn't be so hard in someone who tries a forums for help.

    This forum seemed great at first, with some helpful tips, but this has just degraded.

    In less than 2 minutes of searching, I found these. This is not being hard on someone, it's pushing them to do their own work on something so simple.

    On the last link, if you proceed, there is a link to contact EA if you can't find help with your issue.
    Again, this took me 2 minutes. I love giving tips and helping when I can, but Tap dancing Homer dude, giving someone a link to google an answer themself is being hard on them? :lol::lol::lol::lol: It's. Not. Hard.

    Bump cause this is happening to me still for a week and with the new update I'll be furious if I miss the limited time items due to EA's incompetence. I already emailed EA and they said the highest team would look at my problem but I reckon I wont hear for them for a few moths. I check my town regularly ever few hours and still have no hope of getting in. I tried the anonymous trick a few times and that wont work for me either.

    Has anyone had this fixed for them or managed to successfully sign in through the anonymous trick?

    I received an email response saying restart phone. Close app. Re download app. Temp move phone to airplane mode. All issues that did not help. Received download today and still can't access. Emailed customer service back explaining this. Hopefull Thursday update fixes this. Vacant understand why it's just my Springfield that is Locked out. But I could start new town.

    You should be able to escalate that further since those basic troubleshooting methods did not work. Reply back to the email and request to be escalated further and please keep us updated.

    I went through all of that too and after a few back and forth-y emails they finally escalated it to the highest point. That said it was about 4 days ago and I've noticed no change since but you never know. I really hope we don't miss out on these limited time items or on the whacking day update (if that's what Thursday's update is) due to EA's own incompetence.
