Longer answer: They'd be fools not to check in here once in a while. This forum is a wealth of ideas (development), reactions (market research), heads-up about bugs and fixes (tech support), etc. Utilizing those things would save EA time and money.
If they do keep tabs here, it doesn't mean they're going to implement everything/anything that's suggested, though. Anything they see and like would still go through whatever channels they have before ending up in the game. Who knows what that entails or what happens to ideas during that process.
I ask this question because I see a lot of people who post on future items they want for TSTO.
People who also want more land or a particular building and/or character but nothing happens about it. Surely there's somebody at EA who's sat at a computer and they can do something about it? Otherwise this game will get very boring, very quickly.
Here is my take on this after being on this forum for a few months, would you look at it?
Would you wade through the hundreds of nonsense threads to find the one gem, the couple of good suggestions? Would you be willing to give up the man hours to that?
I wouldn't. I think it would be a waste of my employees time and that they could be doing something far more productive to make me money.
All that being said, we have no way of knowing if they have anybody who reads the forums. I belong to a couple of reality tv forums (shut up lol) and I know for a fact that they have people who read them. On So You Think You Can Dance, their producer (Nigel) has even mentioned things on the air that was said/posted in the forums.
So.....since we know that some companies do indeed read posts in forums, there is a chance that EA reads these. Also, take a look at the other forums (like Sim City) because there are EA people on them posting and taking suggestions.
Given that evidence, there could very well be somebody who reads the posts here but again I ask you....why would they? Maybe if we made it easier for them by creating (or bumping again) the ideas post, then they would know where to look for these suggestions in the event that somebody is looking.
(man, that turned out long winded, lol sorry about that guys!)
Very true guys, but then all being said are we wasting our time posting on here on what we want to see in the game for it just to fall on deaf ears?
Maybe they should have more accurate topics, rather than just the 4 they have? (Announcements, general discussion etc)
Have one for people who want friends, one for game suggestions, one for complaints, one for general questions etc.
Make it more easier for people to filter there posts and maybe try to get their point across to the correct people.
Yes true that,it's not hard to think about what needs to be generated in the game,as there would have to be at least one die hard simpsons fan who works for ea and has access to point this game in a direction we would very much like in terms of buildings and characters.

We are in the process of requesting better subforums but this could take awhile.
Since we have no way of knowing for sure if they read these things then maybe we could make it easier for them by creating a thread for game ideas?
There was one, once, but I believe it is long buried and tons of pages back.
I just can't understand why someone isn't listening/reading to the people who actually spend time and hard earned money playing this game.
Oh well, I enjoy playing this game, it's one of very few free apps that I have on my iPad. It passes the time when I've got nothing to do.
Also, how accurate are the Facebook groups for this game? Does anyone know. They seemed to be right about Lenny and Carl being in the last update.
Lol sounds just like codemasters and there 3rd weak attempt at an f1 sim, there are tons of complaints on there website but yet every year it's the same, still have to buy it tho as a hardcore f1 fan they have the license so no other developer can make it.

We don't know for sure if anybody is or isn't reading these forums.
Which is why I've said that if there was a dedicated thread for ideas/suggestions, then if somebody was actually reading then it would be easier for them to wade through the pages of nonsense to find them.
I will try later to do to locate that thread, it is a list of user suggestions for the game and things we'd like included.

I am sure they check it out but what happens after that is anyone's guess.
