I can only speculate, but I assume its EA trying to give everyone time to get the content and them time to get out ahead of harp freeze bugs so everyone has time to enjoy it. That and the servers going down tonight.

It's a trap for the impatient among us to spend 24 donuts. I'll wait on it tho - I need those donuts for the extortionate prices of decorations/ buildings now the XP bonus incentive has gone out the window.

Don't forget about those still on the fence about the Fish place. Gives them time to think about donuts and how best to spend them.
