6283 items. That's right. I have 6283 items. I was on top of the world earlier. The update came early. Made several hundred bonus donuts. Play everyday. Several times a day. I love this game. My absolute favorite game. And this huge blockbuster update was finally here. A day early too. It really felt like Christmas for me. I was that excited. Went from absolute joy to hopeless despair in an instant. Heaven to Hell. EA really earned that worst company of the year award today. What they did today took a lot of hard work and nerves of steel. Takes a lot of balls for a company to just come out and basically tell the hardcore players to go eff themselves. I mean, it's as evil as hell, but bravo for the execution of their plan. The more you cared, the more you played. The more you played, the more stuff you bought. I took a lot of pride in what my town looked like. No house farms. Nothing jam packed. Endless tinkering with it. It had to run like I thought a real town would. And what does EA think of someone like me? Someone who has played daily since last August? Someone who loved their product? They just told me I can go eff myself. On Christmas day.
Except you have all of those extra donuts out of it. Meaning as you rebuild your town to get under the limit you'll make room for things you can now buy with your donuts.
No. What they're basically saying, is that if you really decorated your town and tried to make it as real as possible, you can suck it. The only people to blame are the people at EA. Other players, no matter what they're doing or how they're playing, aren't to blame. The company who makes the product is responsible for the product they make. It's not rocket science.
They have a monopoly on licensing. They are a giant corporate cow. They won worst company again this year and deserve the tittle. Thanks so much EA for buying so many licences to game genres I typically love and destroying them.
This game has been broken from the start. It is by a country mile the most broken, glitchy, temperamental, connection problem pile of steaming poo ever offered up to me in 20 plus years of gaming.
I'm disgusted with myself for sticking with this game for so long and giving EA my money. Shame on me.
I lucked out and got you as a friend months ago. Always enjoyed your landscapes. You're one of, if not the best artist on here. I read you were quitting somewhere else. Sorry to see you go. I may have to do the same. I've got over 6000 items. I'll keep visiting your town as long as I stay on. However long that is.
This definitely sucks, and I am furious I had to waste over an hour putting away decorations and figuring out which areas of my town to redesign just to place all the new buildings and whacking day stalls. But, even though everyone is saying this kills our creativity and what we can do, I do think it's going to force us to be more creative, making things with less decorations and still maintaining a unique look. I hope it eventually gets resolved though... They must have so much content to release for this game over the next several months, I just can't see this 3,000 limit being permanent.
all i can say is i think my town sucks now. i used to love it but removing over 800 items has made it look like some old guy with a bad comb-over. no offense to old bald guys.
i went to best buy yesterday and got a $50 itunes card to get ready for whacking day but i'll use it for something else now because i can't buy anything. no room.
I agree. I was 1100 over. Definitely sucked taking down some of my more elaborate areas, but I was surprised at how few areas I hhad to minimize. And it was definitely worth it, these new buildings are great. Duff Stadium and Springfield Coliseium might be my 2 favorite buildings ever in this game. I really do hope they remove the restrictions after their servers become more stable. Way too much content yet to be released to have a 3000 cap. Also kinda limits how much we can do in between level updates. Obviously wont be bad now as this update is huge and will be fun for probably the whole month.
I just tried to plant one little shrub and got the message that there is now a "building maximum". Hours upon hours to design my Springfield which includes an 18 hole golf course covering about a third of my town and now I have to dismantle my golf course in order to place anything new! I think the 3000 item max is unreasonable!!! If they don't raise it or get rid of it entirely, EA will be losing me as a customer, and I won't be sailing off on that ship alone, I'm sure.
This is a completely **** solution to a problem imo. What has happened is all these people exploited the hell out of that scratchie glitch while they could and have ended up with bucketloads of premium items, giving them a multiplier thats of the charts.
All this is going to achieve is destroy the beautiful towns out there, that people have spent hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars on, now they have to trash them. I can see why people are leaving in droves over this.
Dumbest idea ever.
Sorry for ranting, I don't normally do this but I can see now how EA have earned the title of 3rd worst company out their.
EDIT: to ensure stability... what **** it's just to stop house farming so we can't get donuts that way...
False. It's stability issues. That house farmers are most likely to see ths is a side effect. It's unfortunate to have a limit (curious how close I am), but it's nice knowing they may have lowered the risk of the game crashing when trying to visit friends.
EDIT: Personally haven't hit the limit (don't know how close). And before I fly into a panic I'd be curious as to what a 3000 item city looks like.
False. They're trying to cram android users onto origin. That android users are most likely to see this as a stability fix is a side effect. I'm sure that a few hundred trees are not going to impact the stability of your town. Or they could just buy a few extra servers. If they really cared about issues such as stability they would have better quality control in place to make sure the amount of bugs and issues thst are happening at the moment (or after every update) don't occur

We have a winner folks. Over 6000 items and no stability issues in my town. I've yet to come across anyone who has as many items in my town as I do, yet I have no stability issues. How can people not see the oncoming hoarde of Android players onto the Origin servers as the cause of this? Buy more servers.
I had over 4,000(pales in comparison to 6K) and I never once had my game crash since the very beginning of the Christmas update. So I definitely don't think it's the decorations and buildings. I just can't see how they don't eventually raise this.
This limit thing is a real shame, I seem to be under the 3000 items, (for now), so it's not affecting me right at the moment, but it would be nice to know that I could expand my town without running into an invisible wall...
I vote we call this little limitation of theirs 'The Dome':

Well, we only needed 46 votes to pass the senate, so this 3000 Item Limit will henceforth be referred to as The Dome!

Just reading this...WTH??!!!!! Is this for real? So it's our fault that their server gets overloaded? Fat chance! They are making enough $$ to have better servers. Now they want players to sell/store what they have built up in their Springfields. Just doesn't sit well in my mind for them to do this. Just get better servers and btw give players more land
