Same thing happens to me I had to delete over 500 houses and decorations

Did not think my town was particularly elaborate but I was still 600+ items over the limit, really upsetting to have to destroy so much of my town

I know, wasn't trying to be mean, I just know a number of people on the board were saying to add land, I guess it resolves it in the worst way possible. At least those can be sold back for cash.

It's such a disappointment my town doesn't look the same I checked kymie's town cos I knew he had a lot of decorations and he's destroyed his lol

not that ive heard of,, people just get a message when trying to place a new item when their over the limit..

Coupla' questions:

-- can you just store the excessive decorations in inventory?

-- can anyone give an idea of how many "too many" is? Maybe snap a pic of your SF pre and post slimming? Or just a post slim SF with a brief description of what you had to clear.

-- and are we only talking about items that bring up the vanity score, or does it count other items as well? What about tree hugger items?
