  • There's squidport fences? That's ludicrous.

Get rid of all your shrubbery. Cities do that all the time when they realize landscaping is hard.
  • I'd go for squidport fences. Also I've been making sure I don't have things hidden behind buildings. Taking away the odd tree here and there. It's annoying having the warning notification pop up every time I want to place something.
I've been replacing low multiplier items with higher multiplier items - when the hollow logs came out, I bought lots of them and stored away some of my things that only gave a lower percentage, and I also stored away a lot of my ugly springfield heights buildings too. Replaced them with logs. No loss of % an no ugly buildings. Win win.

Question: Are all items that are placeable on SP counted as double when there?

Also, I've built my multiplier up to nearly 2300%, and I don't know how much of that is I&S billboards, but I'm keeping them until I get around to redesigning (I actually tried to start when this event hit). When I hit the item limit, they'll probably go to KL.

Generally count as one item. But the fountain is two and sea items are two too.
  • Thanks for all your input, well except for the person who said I should nuke. :p
Seriously, great suggestions. For now, I've removed all the SP fences on my pirate area and did some minor changes to SP. I plan on redesigning my beach in SH and try to place as many BH pieces on land. Hopefully that will be enough for a bit of time and I won't have to sacrifice any multipliers.

I havent got the warning yet, but I know I have to be close. So whenever I see something small and sorta inconsequential, such as a bush or manhole cover, basicly something that I can remove and not miss, I store it. Anything on the water that doesn't have a multiplier or that Im not really in love with was stored. Bridges, the kind the regular road nakes by going over water, gone. Theres other stuff, but you get the picture

  • If you have training walls hidden to keep yourself at 5 stars, you can try removing them. I found a while back I could remove all of them and not take a hit. Even if you do take a hit, you might consider whether all the training walls are worth that extra half star (0.5%).

Some decorations like Easter trees also can go in Krustyland, you can move them there and still enjoy them while not counting against the Springfield item limit.

    Thanks!

One more question, @168sean168, do the fountains count as two items on land as well as SP? That's the last decent item in the vault for me, and at 2.75%, I'll pick some more up if it only counts as one item.

Well, one or two items, I picked up 13 more fountains. They're fun to work with, and I think I'll tie in a lot of the casino event's fountains with them.
  • Question:

How do you know you are getting close to the limit?

Yes. Be it land or sea, that good to hide fountain is counted as two items. I only placed one out in the town. I didnt see your question earlier..

    Thanks Sean!
  • You can substitute your I&S boards with higher multiplier items.

Does any pavement count toward the limit?
  • I keep reaching the limit. I've been storing parking lots. Also have a small house farm for extra XP, which if need be I can get rid of. I'll probably store the crowds at the music stages after the event is over. I used to get really involved in landscaping with lots of flowers, trees, and bushes, but I've backed off on that. I still use thought when I add new buildings. My town is laid out nicely. Don't just plop something where ever it fits. Sometimes, during an event, I go hog wild with the layout, but then if I need to, I slim down the area. There's all kinds of things you can do. As far as my Monorail? No way Jose on storing them. When I can, I add to the setup. I worked my **** off on the layout., and it takes over 5 minutes to make the full loop. Gary wuv's his Monorail.

    Pavement does not count. @1SmallFoot
  • I'm getting dangerously close to the max item limit. I can't decide what to do. I really don't want to sacrifice my existing designs and I'm not thrilled at the thought of having to lower my multiplier.
If this were you, which of the following would you do to lower item numbers:
    A. Store Squidport fences
    B. Store Monorail tracks
    C. Store some of the many multiplier items that are hidden throughout your town
    D. You have another suggestion.

BTW, I don't have any shrubs, fences, etc. hiding behind buildings.

i'm almost in the same situation and at the moment leaning towards storing squidport fences. after that I will likely try to reduce shrubbery - i.e instead of a row of single shrubs include some of the 2 tile ones as well
