That sux. I had to get rid of one as well. According to a few people on here, you and I are the direct cause of everyone's problems. From stability, to lag, from crashes, to deletions of towns. Hopefully you'll get to meet these people. They are so reasonable and well informed. A true delight. Just remember that EA is completely blameless when talking to them.
The trees around the maze would not have been enough. If I would have used trees to get under 3000, I would have to break up other designs as well. The hedges in the maze were 300+.

What other designs did you have elsewhere? I know I've seen your maze elsewhere but can't recall other things.

There are also people around here that are completely **** hurt and will whine constantly about how the world is over, and that they are quitting....yet strangely they continue to visit the forum and complain about everything they removed and also continue to play a game that was created by "the devil and satan himself" even though they hate it....I wonder if they are "cutters" too.....
3000 limit? Is that a number of items we can have? And if so, do we at least have an item counter?
A limit was implemented along with the whacking day update. And there currently isn't an item counter. Which would make it MUCH easier for people who have to trim down their towns.

that sux. I have absolutely no idea how many items I'm currently sitting on. It's good that they brought more stability to the game, but sux that it was at the cost of some of the cooler Springfields.

Todi, I can understand that you can live with a minimalistic Springfield. But I don't think my Springfield was and is to cluttered. Go to my panoramic thread and check it out for yourself. I have invested a lot of time in this, and when you have to get rid of parts of it that hurts.
I still hope that this cap will be lifted, but if it's not, I will have to start removing other things in a couple of months. I have kept track, and I'm now at 2950 items (give or take 1). And I even haven't added anything from this update.
So, if in a few weeks I get that same screen again. Then it will be game over for me. And that will hurt, because I love this game.
If you can't understand that, then why are you playing this?

I think that after spending countless hours trying to make our towns nice AND spending hard earned money, we have every freakin right to b!$&@. I'm sure you have never been upset and said something you didn't mean out of anger or desperation...mr. perfection himself. This cap on objects has really messed the game up for a lot of people, let us whine and moan all we want, while you sit in your perfect world talking S?!* pretending this disruption to our game doesn't bother you.
Why is it considered "minimalist"? Couldn't I come back and say what you did was excessive?
I won't, because you were working with what was available. But by that same token you removed over 300 hedge decorations and freed up a TON of space you would likely be needing now that more buildings are available.
You obviously have a lot of creativity. Which to me suggests that even with an item restriction you'd be able to come up with some great new looks. For example. I bet you could build an awesome hedge maze on a smaller scale if you sacrifice some other decorations. And as time goes on you'd still face the challenge of maintaining that maze while having space for more buildings.
Please remember it is ok for folks to vent their frustrations as well as their joy's here.
After all this is what forums are for.. enabling folks to discuss CIVILY their thoughts on the game including its good points as well as the short comings..
If you don't like the topic of a thread, feel free to move on to another. No one is forcing anyone to read them..
Griping that people are griping is kind of redundant isn't it?
But why? To save the world's biggest computer games company from buying the required server infrastructure for their game? What happens when the game is still unstable afterwards? A 2500 limit? A 2000 limit?
No thanks, I'm not tweaking my town because of EAs arrogance. I'd rather quit. This may not affect you, but other players are affected. The game has been ruined for me personally.
What I'm trying to figure out is why people think they need to throw they're entire town away because of this restriction. The OP for example had an awesome hedge maze. But I feel like he could've come up with a way to keep that maze (or a smaller version of it). Especially considering how much pride they took in it.
We're all going to have to deal with this limit eventually. Some unfortunately are dealing with it now. And as we run up against it were all going to have to decide what parts of our town are worth making work and which we can do without.

I was actually going to refute this but you make a valid point... even tho I cant stand your view on the 3k limit.
I have 800 items to be removed from my town but i refuse to take down my burns manor, spent to much time on that so I dont know what else to do at this point im stuck... Lucky that you had to remove only your maze :P
well since they added a limit I think they should reduce the number of hail ants signs, stop signs, crusty burgers and gulp and blows necessary to keep those perspective parts of the conform-o-meter at 5 stars..
I currently have 12 hail ants hidden and 30 stop signs hidden to keep the obeideince level up..

I still had a few places where I could put new buildings. The space that is freed up now , is at the moment lost space, because it does not fit in with my plans. Back to the drawing board, and yes I will come up with new ideas and looks. But only until I reach that cap again. As said before, I can place 50 things and then I will have to start removing again. How many new items are in this update?
Believe me, if they keep coming up with new updates, you as well will reach that cap. Let's see how you will feel then.

Perhaps you can revive it in in smaller form as a tribute?

PS add me k_standing and see my MASSIVE spring field :-)
