half the fun is the journey, if they want to be bored for weeks waiting for 5 min of fun, thats thier own issue..
It does anger me that essentially they are stealing from the workers, in the essence that instead of paying the folks who worked to create a game and need those funds to feed thier families, they chose to hack for free items they other wise would have had to pay for..
If it is a single player game I would say normally say hacking doesn't bother me. Since this is a freemium game it can get a little more complicated. You could say what they do doesn't directly affect your enjoyment of the game, but it does potentially drive up the cost of premium items. If people are hacking and not paying for the things they get then EA has to make up that cost elsewhere to justify the production of the game. So you can see higher cost (in donuts) for things to pay for the service you are receiving.
Got to say fair play to them myself. I wouldn't use the unlimited exploits, but the randomness of paying for a chance of a good item is stupid. Then considering 70 doesn't even get you enough donuts for everything. *, full retail ps3/360 games cost half of that. Look at the odds on boxes and Buddhas? Paying for scratch cards that are random.
Lets be honest, it's a joke how expensive it all costs. And freemium may change soon in the uk at least. Office of fair trading is investigating the practice.
Well if EA went not such a bunch of money grabbing twits them people won't have to hack the game. I'm playing the legit way no hacking. BUT.. for a load of donuts it's a rip off! I mean 150 donuts for a building which should be buy able without donuts!
I say everybody had the right to do what they want and if EA don't like it, then stop trying to rip us off.
i am wondering if all the anti hack people called ea and asked them to take back the extra donuts they got after recovering from harpies? <assuming of course they got the bonus donut glitch afterwards>
Well there's one "hack" "glitch" whatever, in particular that probably wouldn't have even been discovered had it not been ripping the users off first. They still haven't fixed it, and people finally found a way to benefit from it. As far as the racetrack glitch, things like that have been in games forever, once again, if you don't want people to do it, fix it. My opinion is that if its in the game itself, and I'm not using any kind of external program to alter the game, I'm not doing anything wrong.
A perfect example is people getting free donuts after the harp lockout, as someone said earlier, I'm sure these people didn't call EA and them to take them back. Just like I'm sure someone stumbled across the racetrack glitch by accident, it was nothing but doing things the game allows you to do in a certain order. If it wasn't accidental, then it was most likely a back door left in by developers for some reason.
Hacking the phone is different in my opinion, but its admittedly a fine line. To me the difference is that you have to actively circumvent the game.
The main thing I dislike about the phone hackers is that they think they're special because they get everything first and can have multiples if items that are one of a kind. I don't care that they have them, but they come here and post, and lie to people to get some kind of validation or something. I just don't understand how fooling people on a message board into thinking you have 2 shamrock trees provides any kind of boost to your self esteem. It's pathetic.
the only true "hacks" are hacked app files on jailbroken devices. a lot of these so-called hacks are glitches or just working standard program functionality to your advantage, but most are too dumb to know the difference. perhaps if EA stopped pumping out a broken game with these exploits and squeeze its customers far beyond reason people wouldn't be so tempted to use these exploits (built by EA) to their advantage. sometimes people find legit ways to beat the house instead of getting the deck stacked to the houses advantage, doesn't mean it's a cheat/"hack".
Part of the fun of Whacking day is collecting snakes to get the prizes. There was a video on youtube within hours of the release of someone with the Sleep-Eazy Motel already. They are now going to have nothing to aim for until possible the middle of May.

Was going to post but pretty much summed it up minus the last para.
If donuts were not so expensive and perhaps the prizes were a bit easier to get, than not as many people would use hacked games or exploits. I agree that ea deserves to get paid for their work, but the amount of money you would have to spend to get all the premium items is insane. You can spend thousands of dollars on in app purchurses and people have done it. I also don't see the point in making the prizes so hard to get. With the snake contest if you do not spend donuts to get premium items than you will have to have tons of friends in order to get all the prizes. I don't want to have 100 strangers as my friend so i can wack enough snakes for all the prizes. Freemium titles are out of control. I admit this is one of the most fair ones i have played as far as the amount of free content that they give you, but as fair as they are in that regard they are just as ridicoulous with the prices of items that they do charge for. Maybe instead of the freemium angle add a subscription service that would give premium item to subscribers. This seems the most fair method. That way people can play for free or pay and support the game and be able to get all the premium content for a fair price.
Even if the premium items were dirt cheap. 10 donuts for decorations, 30 donuts for characters, 50 donuts for buildings, 100 donuts for character/building.
People would still hack the game & get it all for free. It doesn't matter what the prices are and how low they would go, people would still do it.
I usually just come to this forum to get info and read on peoples comment and rarely make a post but when I read something like this I just have to speak up. Why do people care what others do or dont, is not big deal is only a game for people to sweat what others are or arent doing with their towns, if they want to hack it let them hack it if they want to play legit let them play legit WHO CARES is not like an xbox game where you can kill more people if you own a jtag xbox. If you see a hacked town and you dont like it remove them from your friend's list and dont look back.
I hate this crap is like real life people always * about what others are doing, live your life and let othesr do whatever da fk they want.
I dont see the point in complaining, its easy enough to do.
Its a game at the end of the day and the talent of it imo is the detail in decoration, not who can spend the most money.
Some people like myself play on devices that are unsupported by the app, therefore its impossible for me to buy the stuff legally.
So do I
a) not play the game,
b) play but never have any premiums,
c) play and get premiums for free.

What option would most people pick?
I've seen you write before that you play on a Kindle fire HD. My girlfriend has one, so I was wondering how could I play on there if the game isn't in the amazon App Store?

And somehow that makes it ok for you to do it too? You disgust me.
