Monthly subscription fee, thoughts?

This is a great idea. The premium monthly members would get access to better severs, no 3,000 item limit and a limit, but access to all the "premium" items, but can still purchase donuts for more premiums.

Monthly fees are a thing of the past. Most games are now going to emulate the microtransaction model. Also, I've gotten worse service than this from games I've paid a monthly fee for, SOE For example.

I like the suggestions, it could be implemented any number of ways.

I notice a lot of no's so far, I guess no one has ever bought donuts before?

Just joking, but guys consider it a bit before voting instantly. I'd be happy to pay $10 a month which is pretty low really. If I play for a solid year, $120. Would be worth it to me if we got more support from EA, no limitations, premium content available without the constant lure of buying donuts.

    Soldiers Of Everquest?

The company, Sony online entertainment. But yes they own the eq franchise, dcu, and totally destroyed their Star Wars game.

I would say no, mmo's like WOW which require a subscription offer vast game play over many worlds and can provide hours upon hours upon hours --days/ weeks----of uniterupted game play. thus necessitating a sub to offset the mass amount of resources necessary to keep a game of that magnatude afloat..

A farming type of MMOL such as this where you set tasks and harvest things like buildings on a schedule and then can walk away for hours really don't offer up the type of constant server/resources useage to justify such a subscription.

Done properly a company can still make a killing while providing a excellent user experience on a game like this, It's been done before, Very lucratively I might add.

As it stands now, this game can't apply the monthly subscription model unless they are gonna be updating it on a daily basis & this includes adding new content occasionally.

It's a given that the devs for this game must be a small group considering its only a mobile/tablet game & not a AAA console game

They don't have the resources to make this game something like DCU Online, Star Wars the Old Republic, WoW & other games of the like

All of those games started off requiring subscriptions, and all but wow have gone to a freemium model, as well as many others. There's actually more money to be made this way versus subscriptions.

Some good points so far, I don't doubt you guys are wrong.

I don't know, I thought it might be a good idea. This latest 3000 limit has got me really down, and EA's track record so far with this game tells me nothing is going to change.

There is just no communication between EA and us. EA don't feel the need to respond to our issues, by posting topics here or by the ticket email system.

I would still be happy to pay a monthly fee if it meant no limitations and a bit more care, but I can see it is unpopular so far!
