Homerpalooza: An Appreciation
As this event winds down to its last day +, I thought I'd take the opportunity to mention just how great this event was. In my personal opinion, this has been the best event since Tap Ball, and is a Top 5 event ever for me.
Everything about this event was done right: concept, content, and execution. There is literally nothing I can complain about regarding Homerpalooza. I'm not sure how often EA still checks these forums, but on the off-chance they still do... kudos, EA. You hit a home run with this one.

But that aside, I did really enjoy the event. It wasn't terribly difficult to finish either. I noticed that among the people on my friends list, not only did almost everyone finish all 3 acts (24 out of 30 of my neighbors did all 3 acts , 3 finished 2 acts, 2 finished 1 act, and one didnt participate at all) but it was nice to see neighbors who usually dont even come close to finishing get the last prize, a few wrapped up early!
Just my $0.02 worth
This is a summer event (for the northern hemisphere), and like many I took a vacation (to see the total eclipse!) so I appreciated the time to catch up when I returned.
However, I noticed a significant number of my neighbors giving up on Act 3 (because school/college started?). Especially for this time of year it would be better to scrap the Act format and just let players progress at the pace they need so that more can complete the event.
I liked most of the craftables. The stage turret was a poor choice and no one really needs multiples of that pig. I'm also not pleased with the recent trend of craftable prize track prizes (it's a shortcut that allows the developers to create less content) but that complaint isn't specific to this event.
As for this event. I liked what they gave us but the event it self I didn't really care for. Since they actually put "rap" into it which isn't even music. Thus why I ignored the final act. So, decorations were great which is always what I hope for in each event. So I am very happy and appreciative about those items. The event started off BAD for me because the game crashed and it took me a week in order to play it accurately. Not even kidding. Because the rock stage even right now still crashes my game. So once its finally over I got to remove it in order to keep playing my game. I can only hope this doesn't happen in future updates, especially Halloween. I only HOPE that it doesn't make my game crash like this event did....it left a sour taste in my mouth. My appreciate for this event was the items we got. The fences were perfect especially for future use, 3d etc....and the crowds are perfect especially for the future! We can use both fences and crowds in many events and designs to come. It also will help me design a more "perfected" Duff Gardens that I plan on redesigning soon.
I'd tell you why, but I'd be breaking rules 1 and 2.
This guy gets it.
Cold blooded
I mean I mostly agree with that sentiment, but day-um.
That's some hate right there. Heavy dislike, perhaps but I could feel the ice coldedness from that comment.
2nd part.
I was waiting for an I hate event thread, but this'll do.
Some positive points exist, most of Act I and Act II.
The content B- ? Freemium, Premium I'd say at least an A, maybe A+.
Game play? Interesting, annoyed at certain moments where venues change with no warning. The lawyers blend into the tapestry known as Springfield, their movement slow thus making you take a long look.
I am aware that people complained that those were too fast in previous events, and we'll... That'll rarely ever change.
The people camping in the various venues? I like the Idea, they'll spawn in one area regardless of where YOU are. They'd previously congregate around you after a while, but for those in a rush, this limits their location. By Act III? Too many places, I'd find myself going over the same spots four to five to to find em all.
Decorations? Loved most all of em. The speakers and such are an item I'll stow away, not real town builders IMO. However I would like to point out that some of the best craftables are from the Rock Act.
The length... A couple of my neighbors have had hard times with the acts.
I've noticed, few have updated, I did notice that act I was the one most played.
In conclusion Stop 40 day events.
Honestly, change the Act system, like add an act, make it 10 days each act (doable) or add a different game play mechanic for the third act.
Loved the first acts, wasn't at my best for the last act, got bored am only tapping once or twice now... From like 4-5 times daily tapping from previous acts. I got all the prizes....but the Rock prizes are the best prizes.
Knowledge of the fact the all 3 categories of music, from this event, have the same origins, it seems futile to attempt to debate and distinguish, what can and can not be considered music. It was all birthed from the same emotions.
- the penultimate prize in the last act... a bunch of tickets... to buy craftables most people would've had plenty of by that point. Woop dee do.
- Weird Al's prize track... more tickets... kinda lame.
- stage turret... meh
- it was at least 10 days too long. It still has a day to go and I feel like I've been bored by it for at least a week.
- I'll continue to appreciate this event much more if we get some 12hr+ stage jobs.
