too many snakes?

it's been about 12 hours since I last logged in, first thing I see is a couple eggs. go to wack 'em and get a message that Springfield has been overrun with too many snakes and I can't free anymore. sure, there were maybe 100 snakes around that I had to whack, but really, I can't add even one more?
it would be awesome if EA, a company that makes interactive games, had some AI so characters weren't just set animations and actually interacted with other characters and I dunno, actually killed snakes thu came across when they were put on a whacking day job?
