I have a rice steamer as well and there is no other way to make rice and quinoa than with a steamer.

    No other way you say?
    Is that a challenge...

No, but seriously I have a steamer, it's small, but it's the only thing I trust to make sushi.
  • I decided to try stroganoff tomorrow and Saturday it will be chicken curry. I'm loving this thing. If I can perfect one-pot meals.... ;)

@someonewashere I don't usually plate for appearance when it's just me and the hubby. Sometimes we eat off of the same plate.... Seriously..... We're so sad. :D

@happyone2323 Have you used it yet?

@00mesmerelda00 2 pump chimp is more like it! :D

Oh maaaah gaaaawsh! I didn't get a pic of the stroganoff since it's inherently gray and beige, not pretty. :D

It was super-tasty though! Hubby took the last of the leftovers to work today. You know something was good if you eat it non-stop for days. It was one of those meals.

I'm making a chicken curry stew tonight. Chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions, green bell pepper, mushrooms..... I've made it on the stove dozens of times but am so excited to make it in the IP since it will only take an hour as opposed to three.

This will also be my first foray into bone broth! Exciting!!!!! :D :D :D

@00mesmerelda00 I have 2 of the ring pops left but I had to toss the rest. It was so sugary it made my teeth hurt. :D :D :D
  • Bone broth.....

    *snickers* :p

Well you could add some finely chopped herbs for a bit of color contrast. Either way those photo ops done for food are done in a similar manner as to models, with backdrops, lighting, etc. So don't worry about the pictures (for soups height doesn't matter, for all other plates a side picture showing the height looks sexy, my instructor talking not me)
  • @someonewashere food porn? :o

I guess you can call it that, however trends come and go, so one must always be on the lookout for new styles.
I remember an arugula salad composed of a smear of cheese, arugula and beets. It looked decent, but felt like a mini garden.

However Everyone has different fetishes..styles and garnishes.

No, I cook. But I was present when someone did do the photo shoot, various wines and meals had to be made, of course those had to be done perfectly, the sear and markings present, it took longer than I wanted it too. However chef also had our backs so it went smoothly.

Cool. I used to dabble in both cooking and photography. Now I just eat and don't care what it looks like ;)

Ah yes, back in the day ( couple years back) good times.

Nowadays anything I don't know how to make, I follow the words of my instructors:
"Fake it till you make it"
In life, love and cooking, that is sage advice. Which reminds me sage is an excellent aromatic.
