some nice designs when looked at individually but frankly I would like to see more distinction between the business area and residential suburbs.. 8) I've hidden (or sometimes put in plain view) 2 eggs for each individual decoration which I liked  just note the 2ggs are not always next to each other
why not spend some donuts on some premium buildings! they'd probably be the first things i'd jump on if I ever got enough donuts
Thanks guys for the eggs and the compliments! Yeah my posts are a bit tongue-in-cheek with bubbling pride... but the truth is I'm a pretty modest guy. And a lot of your town are looking good too with still others that have a lot of potential. Some cool ideas I've seen too which I'll try to incorporate!
On another note, I'm having some weird Origin issues. I'm getting locked out of some friends and some I had to delete for this reason, but I'm unable to send a request to add you back in. If you posted here and are a friend but are suddenly dropped... IT WASN'T ME! Please try to re-add me by sending me an invite (if you want back in of course). Don't worry, I'll waive the 20 egg admission the 2nd time since it's a technical glitch (wow, I'm channeling EA tech support.. haha). Just no freeloaders. If you never paid up the first time... pay up now.
Those who left eggs, thank you - those who left extra.. you are gods amongst men and women
Most egg donations have been in the 20-50 range. My current record donation is 1000 eggs.. WOW. Have no idea who it was, but thank you to the kind one who helped me get back on track.
Anyone want to match or beat that record?
Also, if anyone is desperate for eggs, I have some stored up. As long as you leave me some, I'll be glad to return the favour if you need some. My only criteria is that you leave some for me first and tell me who you are and that you don't already have all the prizes. I'd rather help someone get the real estate... not extra donuts. I hope that's fair.
Glad so many of you like my Springfield. I can't tell you how seriously nerdy my life has been once Tapped Out entered it. Kind of scary, actually. LOL.. But it is a labour of love for sure!

ffcchan,
Thanks for the look at my town. Though I'm a bit confused. I have almost all the premium items except the new restaurant and Mount Carl. I have everything else (both minor and major - including all the premium buildings except the one mentioned).
My business areas are fairly distinct in terms of blocks, but I do have them surrounding or backing onto residences in some parts. Why? Because that's a pretty accurate reflection of a typical city/town. There's purely residential areas, and then mixed res/commercial areas, and then pure commercial. I also have distinct park areas that I think also blend well both with residence and business.
I actually think I've accomplished the blend pretty well and realistically. Nerdy as I am, I used Google satellite as inspiration. It's what got me out of the straight urban grid pattern design. The key to the realistic look of the town is tree cover. There's lots of trees (if you're not in the south west) in just about any urban city/town area.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of the parts look great. I've also visited your town again and checked that you haven't collected all the eggs I dropped I counted upwards of 3 if I'm not wrong.. (had to overlap an egg in places where i remember hiding them to see if it comes up red or green) 8)
perhaps different towns are developed differently.. we just don't usually have a standalone pub in a residential area (for example).. They'd usually be next to a row of other shops. I'd also think it would be a hazard for two swings to be facing each other so closely. Plus there would need to be space between seesaws for getting on and off and walking in between. It's probably just my own pedantic style. Do just take this as constructive criticism! I see lots of effort put into it My definite highlight would be the decoration for Howard's Flowers.. haven't seen a better-decorated one than yours! the spaciousness is good
I also do humbly correct my previous message, that you do have most if not all of the premium buildings other than the newest ones as far as I can tell.

Yeah, my springfield is too big with too many decorations - hard to find all the stealth eggs you've laid. But I will everntually. After spending almost an hour search, I had to give up and focus on the more obvious eggs. But I'll come back to those. Regarding layout, that's interesting. I do believe you're right that it is geography dependant. I lived in Kingston, Ontario (Canada) for a few years and used parts of that mid-sized city/town as inspiration. In Kingston, there are a few stand alone pubs in residential areas. Even where I live now, there are some, usually inset with a patio which is what I tried to replicate. Great point on the park equipment... I've corrected that - you're absolutely correct on that. Yeah, I used to have more decorations around town and especially the park but had to strip it when EA imposed the 3k limit. Dare I say it, but my town was much fuller and more attractive before. I know EA lifted or extended the limit now, but I'm reluctant for fear of too many decorations crashing the game or locking me out. Plus, with a plethora of buildings coming, I need to be a bit more discerning...
Totally not offended (lol).. love the constructive feedback. There's a lot of element of my town that I'm still not happy about. The discovery that I was most proud of was using the pavement as pseudo-roads to create irregular residential neigbourhoods outside of the strict road grid pattern and building-rotation limitations. It feels much more natural and easy flow rather than a bad subdivision layout (ie. my northern residential pockt).
I also like my Gentleman's Club block that I'll be adding too. Decorations are the key. I'm contemplating how to put the tatum boxing center thing into the design when I eventually get it. I'm thinking a long tree-lined walkway to the building. I dunno...

Have deposited about 3 dozen eggs and will drop more as I get them.

Humbly and graciously, I accept your generosity!
