    Good question, it is so annoying. Maybe they think that you will have at least two people that are on a low carb diet.

    The vegetarians eat the salad. No hot dogs or buns necessary.

    Poor vegetarians. Hopefully there are more than 2 people doing low carb so they can have a bun.

    So that 2 hot dogs can fall on the floor as you're grilling without anyone crying. Alternately, the other 2 are for your dog. Sometimes those two things are one and the same.

    Actually, you halve four of the weiners lengthwise, then stuff four halves in a bun. So much weinery goodness!
