People who farm donuts and get 1000 donuts a week seem to love this event. People who pay for donuts seem a bit disappointed. They horde their donuts and hope to get buy a specific cool item, not some random item that may or may not be cool.
I think this works best with one box per event. Multiple boxes is unfair to those without the means to increase their donut count.
Everyone has the means to increase their donut count. Not everyone has the will, though.

Not everyone has the means, no. Whether money or KEM farming, it's not all possible for everyone. For KEM farming to produce over 5000 donuts you'll need a high multiplier. If they hadn't been lucky or been working on it for years then they can't possibly get that in the few days of the box offers. I only just farmed it with my 1100% multiplier. Anyone with half that will be working twice as long, which is past the end date. The highest donut bundle only gets you 2400 donuts, only less than half of what you might need.

My multiplier is 1036.85, I spent 2200+ when the boxes first came and stopped at 374. I started grinding again hardcore with a couple of slip ups I am back up to 842 since Thanksgiving morning using all in game cash and choosing only one box each time.
Not willing to take a chance on the remaining mystery boxes in hopes of good content, most of them (for me) are at about a 25% chance of hitting something I want or something useful (bonus %), so instead I will keep churning away, cause JetBikes are in my vault this week and they are a sure thing!
They want for Europe a new law, thqt bans Lootboxes, because it is gambling.
I'm excited what this means for the new 1000 box system of tsto
Gambling has existed forever. Why does Europe think they can ban it. Isn't Monte Carlo in Europe?
What's gambling about Lootboxes/what is a Lootbox?
I think Tsto would be able to get around it as long as you didn't directly buy mystery boxes for real money.
EA is in trouble because you buy mystery boxes that could contain "chase" items.
And yes Europe has its own gambling, but it's government controlled (IE they get their cut/revenue), whereas this version of gambling they do not...
So I just found out the hard way that not all items in the decoration box come with a multiplier. ...wasted a full day's worth of farmed donuts on a gone fission

It gives a shove to your Heights profile, but unless you actually care about that; it's rather worthless.
Trying to control the horizontal & the vertical. Do not adjust your TV.

This is another way that the boxes aren't friendly to the casual player. As far as I can tell there's no way to view the (possible) multiplier of items in boxes. Sure, people who play lots have studied lists of all the TO Black Friday items on various websites, and know the multipliers etc, but how is the average player supposed to know this info from just poking around the game itself? Wouldn't listing the multipliers encourage people to get box items?

Yeah, they're in mine, too. Thanks for the reminder, lol. That decoration box was crap for bonus, so I probably should take advantage the guaranteed JEB.

While I agree that item details in the mystery box should be a no-brainer, looking up an item on Google is literally a matter of seconds. You don't have to study anything. If you spend your time saving up for something in the real world do you not get the details on what you're saving for beforehand? Why should it be any different in the context of this game?
If everyone gets what they want without anyone paying anything, the game can't continue.
I disagree with this statement and the logic behind it for two reasons.
1. "Everyone" isn't even close to getting everything they want. The vast majority either save or spend real money on donuts for select items because that is all they can reasonably afford to do.
2. It seems more logical that if people could get specific items they want at a discount they would be more inclined to spend real money to get them rather than blindly throwing donuts at a mystery box and crossing their fingers.
Most people with any sense will look at these boxes, see the odds of getting what they really want, and will pass on them altogether or, if they're feeling frisky, gamble on one or maybe two.
Mystery boxes generally only benefit two types of players - The players who can amass enough donuts to clear out boxes (or have so much stuff the boxes have very few items) and players who aren't very picky about what they get and genuinely don't mind gambling with their limited supply of donuts. That accounts for a definite minority of players.
For what it's worth, there have been what I consider to be two really good mystery boxes this year. Valentine's and 4th of July. The quality content of those boxes combined with the very reasonable prices took much of the gambling aspect away. So, if mystery boxes aren't going away, the least EA can do is compile better content for these boxes and cap the number of items in a box to improve the odds.

Yup, in the "real world" I get details on an item I'm interested in, but the mystery boxes contain well over a dozen items (for casual players). If someone is just curious how many of those items have multipliers and what their chances are of getting a "good" item, then they're going to have to research all of those items.
If everyone gets what they want without anyone paying anything, the game can't continue.
I disagree with this statement...
Of course you do. LOL. You always disagree with everything I post. That's your hobby.
I'm not trying to get into it with anyone. EA has to find ways to get people to part with real money and it's going to seem unfair to someone. But, if no one ever has to pay anything, the game will be over.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.

Read and quote his whole statement. There, I added it back in.
Now, nowhere in there does it say that no one should pay. Actually it says that the current setup is likely causing less people to pay, i.e. a bad thing. It also states others good points that I implore you to ingest and digest.
Mix his statement with my idea that they mix low number mystery boxes with regular rebates, and you've got my full position to improve this thing for everyone.

Well if Best Buy has a sale for 10 TV's of various prices, you will do your research to get what fits you best. Can be a cheap TV or a TV that you cannot afford and need to borrow for, it is your preference. It may have apps or be dumb. Again it is your preference, just like it is our choice to get items with multipliers or not. We do the research and we have to live with the consequences.
Timed BF items vs Mystery Boxes - EA changed it up. Last year there were tons of people who complained about the format; and EA listened and changed it. If you don't like it don't play or spend money.
My first Black Friday, i couldn't buy anything. Second one, I saved enough for just 2 characters. I saved for 2 years to get those 2 characters. This was before the maggie games or monorail or all that.
So those people who want everything now and cannot get what they want. Maybe you shouldn't get it. Play the game and have fun. It isn't a race to the finish. Or just stop complaining and polish your participation trophies earned over the years.
i'm not targeting anyone specific, just saying that this is an EA game with their rules and glad it is. They are great so far. Have listened and responded, have fixed important issues with the game in a fast manner. Is not TinyCo

That's why this 'third' currency has appeared.
Who said that? On this very page I hear many people buying donut boxes to get those tokens. *big shrug*
