I'm not trying to get into it with anyone. EA has to find ways to get people to part with real money and it's going to seem unfair to someone. But, if no one ever has to pay anything, the game will be over.
This took about 10 minutes. These are the boxes I'm interested in, minus things I already have. Should help a little for those with questions about bonuses and such.
And now for a complete change of pace I'll post on topic...
With my gold freebie I got: the Mars Colony (big giant yuck), the Solid Gold Mansion (meh), and the 3 Nerds (yay? But I don't have them in my other games... )
I cleaned out the Characters box in games 1 and 2, but ran out of donuts in game 3 - I would need 640 more donuts and I just don't see it happening.
why did they pull Mr. Sparkle from the boxes? He was pretty much the best thing I got in my crawl town. Was he in the character box? The wheel boxes have been horrible to me on the characters picking all my least favorite ones when I like about 1/2, they are the 1/2 I'm not getting.

I got the Mars Colony with the free token. At first I was excited but it quickly turns into a big nothing. Two character boxes so far.: Sophie and Sharry Boppins. Happy with that.
I spent 160 donuts and got 545 worth of stuff with around a 10% multiplier. I would try for a few more boxes if there were not things I don't want in them.
Maybe EA put those undesirable items in there to deter people from gambling.

I was not a fan of all these boxes. There's only a few items that are on my wish list... I've been wanting these FOREVER! I was lucky enough to snag all three: Springfield Mall, Guinea Pig Center, and the Original Costington's. These extra items ended up tagging along: Stoner Pot Place, Bandit Fort, Radish Station, and the Donut Boat. I stupidly thought you could use tolkins for all the other boxes and bought two extra for no reason. -_-

So I just found out the hard way that not all items in the decoration box come with a multiplier. ...wasted a full day's worth of farmed donuts on a gone fission
It gives a shove to your Heights profile, but unless you actually care about that; it's rather worthless.
Ah yes but theres a bug right now that the Gone Fission from the decoration box doesnt give any SH bonus
Another thing , some of these buildings available to win now are ones I've been powerfully avoiding for years, like that silly Heights thing , the skinny white building with antlers of some kind. Alexa, flip my real estate purchase !
I spent a total of 360 donuts. I couldn't get the radish station as it needs token. Black Friday is over in a flash. Excitement lasted a few minutes. The old format of checking every hour is both terrible and exciting though.

Why would one have had to check every hour? They showed the upcoming items and times for the next 24(?) hours. And the same item would be on sale 12 hours after it's initial offering. Made it easy to plan things out. Only annoyance was if a person was unavailable during both offerings of an item.
My thought on this format are mixed, some boxes had very little in them for me ie the character box, it had one, Dia-Betty, so that was a no-brainer, but others had so much stuff that my chances of getting the one item that I really wanted, the Springfield gorge, impossible. I ended up with four items that I didn’t want or have room for. Better luck next year, I guess.

So it's completely worthless; that's great. All it can do is sit there in your Dock and look pretty.

So it's completely worthless; that's great. All it can do is sit there in your Dock and look pretty.
Its got a decent SH real estate value, if that helps any. I got it (deliberately, it was the only item left) cause Im trying to hit 2 billion, and after 1.5 billion or so, it is really slow going. Everything left is worth $600K or less. I currently own 273 tennis courts, 188 exotic ponds, over 300 gold trees, you get the picture. That boat saved me at least 10 or 20 polo fields

don’t miss the sh grind but at the time that i trying to get to 2b, duff gardens came out and was low on igc, $, and my % was low so what i did was group sh buildings, duff gardens, and simpsons house togeather so homer could do 6 second task. i ground out the 3 together for igc, xp and working towards 2b. once i hit 1.5b it did seem to really go slow and think it took a few months and was really glad it was done. when done i felt like i had nothing to do-but got over that in a few days
Ha, with only hours left I finally realized there's more boxes when you scroll to the right. Awesome. And now I'm a bigamist. With the wives. The wives!!
