Game become unplayable overnight!

Prev1
Overnight my game has become almost unplayable. It’s slow and so jerky and unresponsive I can barely scroll! It was fine when I went to bed last night, it’s the same on both my iPad 4 mini and my iPhone 7 Plus.
Has there been any issues anyone’s aware of?, nothing else has changed on my devices overnight and the game was absolutely fine yesterday.

Have you checked the quality of your internet connection? That would seem the most likely culprit.

  • Mine went like this the other evening, to the point where I was thinking of deleting and reinstalling. And then it just cleared and it was fine again.
  • If it's not the internet connection:
I occasionally have (had?) the problem on my iPad Pro where there is no sound and the game quickly becomes slower and slower - like if the sound clogs something up. When I exit and reenter the game, the missed sounds play, and everything's fine again. Don't know if that's what happens on your devices, though...
  • Maybe it's time to actually turn off the device and then start it up again, thus can often help with this type of problem.

Doing this really does help from time to time as it happens to me a lot but also try double clicking the home button and swiping the game off the screen will do the same as switching it off.

Hard closing the app, as you describe, can help by resetting the app itself. Turning the device completely off can often help more by clearing the device memory completely and freeing up resources from things that were running in the background.

As I said this was on two different devices, one in WiFi the other on 4g, reboot the devices didn’t work, neither did resetting the app. Whether it’s a coincidence or not after completing “Activist Feature Creep pt 3” it all suddenly sprung back to life! So I don’t know if it was a bug related to that task maybe

Glad to hear that your problem resolved itself. To be fair to those who posted various suggestions/solutions, your original post only mentioned that the problem was occurring on two devices.

After the recent update that kept repeating the "completed task" noise, mine was also hardly scrolling at all, making it nearly unplayable. I think it was in that update, because before it, I had no real problems.
  • I have the same problem right now. It keeps playing the "completed task"-noise and the animation is all jerky. Is there any fix?
  • Same here with that terrible “task complete” noise.
  • When all my peeps were task free, my iPad Pro was unplayable, with the 'completed task' noise as well. When all my peeps were finally put on jobs at least scrolling was possible again and the lag mostly went away. Now just make that noise go away!
  • After reading the above and LPN’s thread on the task completion noise, I like others play with my sound off. Just checked and turned the volume up and also getting the constant noise - this seems to be killing the performance of the game, I too have spotted it improves a bit once I put everyone on a task. Hopefully they will fix it before the next event.
  • I noticed the lag in my game 3 days ago. And it persists until this point. I don't play with sounds so I haven't checked yet (until my next log back) if I suffer the same common issue. All I know is that I can't scroll around, and the only solution is by clicking the edit button. Only then will I experience the normal gameplay speed/ normal scrolling. Good thing that there is no major event though. :D
  • I'm experiencing exact same issue as well described in post. Started about three days ago as well. The "completed' task sound is constant and game is literally at a stand still where you can't scroll about to collect cash and such. Only way to scroll normally in game is to put game into "Move" mode, but then you can't collect your cash. I hope the developers get this situation resolved quickly, Simpson's Tapped out is unplayable till this issue is resolved.

I'm so glad that University nerd stored solved the problem. Soon as I found those three darn nerds and stored them, the special rewards screen came up with 'Open' offer on them, opened chest, then closed it, and then game was back to normal! No more sound problem and it scrolls normally again! Thanks again! ;)
  • 1) go into edit mode to remove lag and get to town hall census tool
    2) find and store Benjamin, Doug and Gary

after all three are stored, they might show in cyber deal box which can be opened for free - open the box and the game is fixed.

Not sure how this will work after the cyber deals are done - but it 100% worked yesterday.
  • Thank you so much cdepast! That worked perfectly. My game is up and running smoothly with no annoying noise either.
  • sorry for using the "C" word...C-Y-B-E-R. lol.
