This game is terrible on iPad. Crashes all the time.

I use an iPad yet I do not have this happen to me. Maybe a small bug in the app?

My Springfield is big, because I have been playing the game since it came out. I play on IPad 1. Lately, it crashes a lot. At the moment, before I play, I close all apps, and hard reboot. That is what it takes to collect and re-start everyone on jobs. Otherwise, the game crashes constantly.

Yeah. Im using a first gen iPad as well. I was guessing its probably limited to the first gen iPads. But still. You think for such advanced technology, a game as simple as this wouldnt cause as many crashes as it does. Its something to do with the code for the new update in the game. It overwhelms the app almost as soon as it opens. I hope they fix the issue soon. Becuase I love the game, but playing it on my iPhone just sucks. Its so hard to tap on individuals who are moving because they are so small on there.

The people with the first gen iPads are stuck on iOS 5... It looks to be a problem with iOS 5 and tapped out 3.0.0...

Playing on my iPad1 has become virtually impossible. I switched to my iPhone4, and for a while, things went smoothly. But now, as my town has expanded and I created a large "Happy Halloween" message, I'm crashing every couple of minutes on that too. I've eliminated houses, etc., already. I exchanged some messages with someone from these forums who was having the same iPad1 problem, and his issues went away once he upgraded to the latest model. I'm tight on money however, and this is the only app giving me grief, so there's no way I'm upgrading myself. I hope EA offers some fixes in a future update. It's not like I'm on a giant friggin' block computer from the 90's, ha.

Does anyone else have this problem. Works awesome on my iPhone with no issues. But on my iPad, everytime I open it, it crashes about 1 our of every 2 times. When I go to visit friends towns, it crashes. And I only started having this problem on the newest update, whenever the Treehouse of Horror update came out. Before that, I never had it happen. And I always make sure there are no other apps running in the background either. Please fix this game EA. It wouldnt be a problem if the game loaded quicker or ran in the background. That would be a major bonus to this game if they could make it so it just runs in the background.

I have an iPad 2 with ios6 and I have been adding a lot of friends lately. After the fix I had like 30 or so friends and I didn't have any problems. Now I almost have 80 and the rate of visits to my Springfield town is increasing. Every time the game crashes when I reopen it I see that someone has visited my springfield. That may be the problem and yea is beginning to be frustrating. Also I have a lot of decorations in my springfield (curiously every time I am trying to move some item and I hide the buildings my game crashes) that may also be a problem.

Has anyone with ipad 3 been having this problem?

I havent upgraded my iPad 3 to ios6 yet. I've heard mixed reviews about it, so I'm kind of wary. I just recently got my iPad in the middle of September. Before that I was playing the game on my iPhone 3G with 4.0.1 update since that's the highest it can go. Never had any issues with it. Occassionly on my iPad 3 I will get a small crash as soon as I start the game while it's loading the main screen. But as soon as I open it again, it runs smooth. My town isn't crowded with stuff. I only have 1 of each house & building. I've never farmed. I do have it decorated nice, but not overboard. Maybe I've just been lucky that the bugs or glitches haven't really affected me. At least not yet lol.

No, you can't do that on iPad 3. It's a feature EA will have to add in the future
