I am looking for people who care about their city and build attractive and creative Springfields. If you are one of these people please add me. If you just built 700 brown houses in a corner please stay away.

Check out the 'nominate your favourite Springfields' thread, there are a lot of beautiful towns in there. Off the top of my head, some of my favourites are rrss0006, stationgate, nellymatt66, jofre_nash, fightnhippo, and ewaldklement.

I'm proud of mine and it's coming along nicely but I've only been playing a few weeks so it's still relatively small (just finished the power plant). Plus my friends list is full right now.

I wouldn't call my Springfield "attractive" per se but it has a great personality and I wouldn't kick it out of bed.

EDIT. Actually a friend just told me my Springfield was "beer goggle doable" so never mind. Don't add me.

So, how important is orderly to an attractive town? From what I've seen, most people who find their town attractive have their streets all lined up and squared off. That's nice, but it screams of "rearranging". I've tried to build my town with minimal rearranging. Everything is pretty much where it was originally built.

I like to think that makes my town more "organic". It has grown the way a real town would. I have made an industrial park, a row of city shops and I'm working on the town center. I don't have a Town Hall yet. I have a neighborhood and crooked roads and uneven intersections. I told my wife that reflects my rural upbringing! Most nice Springfields look like cities, mine looks more like a small town.

I didn't want to define what I consider attractive. Since I posted this there have been more than a few people who added me that I instantly deleted because I hate their city. I like creativity and well-planned myself. I'm okay with people totally rearranging their city but it may or may not be necessary.

I can define what I don't consider attractive:
-Mass groups of brown, purple, blue, white or orange houses
-Houses placed such that they don't enter on to anything at all
-Objects put in places that make no sense
-No regard for position of objects

I consider mine attractive (though I am not even 22). I have seen a few cities that I like better then mine but I won't post them because I don't want them to get flooded. I will admit that there really is no right and wrong.

I agree with you Jarci, I'd say I probably have the most attractive natural Springfield I've seen so far, I leave space for car parking, make sure all my entrances line up with pavements or roads etc. If anyone wants to add me it's - 'stuie86'
