Probably for the same reason that we don't have any other Phil Hartman characters, maybe out of respect, maybe due to the cost.

The monorail is introduced by Lyle Lanley, so I find the "out of respect" argument a little suspect. And yes, he isn't a character we actually get, but he is included.

Yeah, I think that's a weak argument. I do think they will eventually add Hutz and the other Hartman characters, we just have to wait.

Personally I think it’s showing a little respect by keeping them in our memories. Lionel Hutz, Tory McClure are Characters I would love to see. Including Sarah Wiggum, Stamp ticket guy and Lyle Lanley.

Lyle Lanley had a very small role with the Monorail, and before you blinked; he was gone.

As much as it would be cool to see these characters played by Phil Hartman in the show, it's never going to happen.

Although I WILL keep my fingers crossed, I would love any Phil voiced characters

I imagine it’s a complicated situation involving lawyers, accountants etc. Hartman was kind of a big deal when he joined the cast and it wouldn’t surprise me if he (his estate) owns a certain percentage of his primary characters. It’s easy to pay what is owed on a t-shirt or coffee mug but he’s not here to negotiate something that’s difficult to put a value on like this game. Just my guess anyway. I’d happily pay cash money for his characters if that idea is ever on the table.

To be perfectly honest, I was drunk when I wrote this. It was NYE and my husband and I were drinking shots and watching The Simpsons while we waited for midnight. Troy came on screen, I went "I want Troy!!! Why don't we have Troy???" and away I went. Sorry for asking a question that has apparently been asked before. I didn't know. That'll teach me to drink and internet.

I'm confused though, there are other voice actors who have passed away whose characters are in game. What's so special about Phil? (not trolling, I honestly don't know. I didn't start watching the show until I was an adult. My mother used to call Bart "Barf")

Don’t worry about it. It’s one of those questions that periodically shows up here. It’s better than those endless threads re-hashing the “subtleties” of KEM farming.

To be honest, I don’t know that there is anything special about Hartman’s characters vis-á-vis the game legally speaking and it may be possible that they eventually show up (although given their popularity one would have expected to see them by now). What is less in dispute is that if they do show up here, they almost certainly will not be voiced.

Well, Phil is probably a little different in that he was murdered, and the only other one I know of is Marcia Wallace who died well after krabapple was already in the game...

The fact that Hartman was murdered, while certainly tragic, has no legal bearing on whether or not his characters can be used in the game.
