Started playing March 1st. Locked out weeks later, got on again August 16. I'm currently level 20, getting Grampa tomorrow. 2 months and 5 days.

Those last levels should take you, on average, about 2 days per level, if you play slightly aggressively (e.g. not completely farming out your town, but just playing fairly vigorously by doing 1-hour jobs and hitting up all of your neighbors), every day. I hit 22 just under two months, after delaying my Krabappel quest for a week, in order to get a bit more land and decorations.

Started playing about a week before I signed up for the forum, just hit 22 a few days ago. Never had any house farms or anything like that.

How quickly you progress through the levels is a function of how quickly you can accumulate XPs. If you play every day and visit 100 friends on a daily basis, it really doesn't take all that long to max out. I reached Level 20 in less than a month. (This was back when the game was capped at 20.) It took me quite a bit longer to acquire the buildings that corresponded to those levels, however. In any case, I'm not really sure I understand the obsession some have with acquiring everything quickly, as if speed somehow corresponded with "winning".

starting over after my Springfield disappeared. now at level 10.

I started August 31st and just capped at end of Level 22. Currently just started to build the Town Hall.
Still have Muntz house and Krabappel department to go.

It took about 7 weeks to get to 22. That's from setting hour tasks while I'm awake and eight-hour tasks during work/sleep. I'm currently waiting for the quest to build Krabapple's apartment.
