My friend showed me that he got the Space Homer event along with the ice cream questline. He hadn't had the event before, because sometimes he doesn't play for few months.

Has anybody else also got the event?

Yes several of the classic mini event have been re-released for players who either missed or didn't complete them but you need to be level 60 or above for them to trigger.
