+1 for this whole thread. Glad to finally see some people happy about updates. 6 content updates in 6 weeks?? Unreal! I never thought EA would roll out updates at this pace considering how it started out. I understand many of the complaints, but some are just idiotic. I created a ridiculously long post doing a detailed content analysis of the last 6 weeks of updates comparing the number of free items vs premiums because too many people have been suggesting we've had more premiums than freebies lately (by free, I obviously mean in-game cash). However, I decided not to post it because I thought it would just cause arguing and most people probably wouldn't care, lol. I'm not thrilled with all the yard sale prices(70 for the blimp seems too high) but I am thrilled with the update, the items are mostly awesome.
Your right just a minor glitch here and there ain't no big deal I constantly read a ton of complaints from people about this game and just have to shake my head from all the ungratefulness I realize ya some spend their hard earned or mommy and daddy's money on the game but in the grand scheme of things millions upon millions of people in this world especially the third world would give there life if all they had to complain about was a video game on a cell phone and not whether or not they are going to eat, feed their family, live to see another day or where their next meal is coming from, honestly I think it's time people reprioritize what truly is worth * and whining about, and just be thankful that we in the westernized modern world have it so damn good! Side note though I play all the time good or bad it's still just a fun game
I'm always a little nervous when an update comes because I spent six weeks unable to open game and prior to that it was harp of death! But so far so good since whacking day and I know people got sick of snakes but so many new prizes and buildings with new characters at no cost to any player unless they wanted was pretty good I think although I so want the stage and robot dog but there is a limit to how much ill spend out on doughnuts on what is essentially a pixel I've been having fun but from now on its freebies or virtual money for me so whacking day was great

Agreed I didn't expect anything new I only expected the snakes to go. When is the season 24 finale anyway?
I would like to see the detailed content analysis even if you just post the link to your other thread? Sounds interesting. They usually seem to bring out more premium content than cash content with episode tie ins and more cash content with level updates. Right?

The season 24 finale is this Sunday, May 19th.
Here's my breakdown of the last 6 weeks of updates:
Comparison of Free vs Premium items over the past 6 weeks :
There has been a lot of complaints and rants about updates recently and specifically about the amount of premium items. I've even seen people suggesting that the balance between free and premium has shifted to the premium side(mainly because of the yard sale).
Well. over the past 6 weeks, we have gotten 6 content updates and 1 free donut update...
April 8th- Episode tie-in- Swanky Fish/Waterfall
April 10- Whacking Day
April 18- Level 28
April 23- No content update but 12 Free Donuts
May 2nd- Episode tie-in-Respectable Moe/Limo
May 10th- Level 29
May 16th- Yard Sale
From these 6 updates we have gotten 55 total items (12 buildings, 11 characters, 28 decorations, 4 skins).
For the purpose of this, I'll be counting all whacking day prizes as free items even though you can now purchase them for donuts. And by free I mean in game cash and not purchased with donuts/real money. So here is the breakdown of free and premium items that have been released in April/May:
Buildings:
Swanky Fish(90 donuts), Fort Sensible(Free), Duff Stadium(Free), Coliseum(Free) Motel(Free), Lugash's Gym(175 donuts), Fat Tonys Compound(Free), LBSC(Free) Asia de Cuba(100 donuts), Skinner House(Free), SprawlMart(90 donuts) , Open Air Stage(160 donuts).
Characters: Lugash(included with gym price), Lumpy(55 donuts), pet snake(Free), Tatum(Free), Miss Springfield(Free), Agnes Skinner(Free), Rich Texan(85 donuts), Fat Tony(Free), Legs(Free), Louie(Free), Frinks Robot Dog(60 donuts).
Decorations:
Springfield Falls(Free), Snake Statue(Free), Snake Rock(1st one free/40 donuts), Snake stump(55 donuts) Snake log(75 donuts) Snake Speakers(50 donuts), Balance Beam(Free), Whacking Day Banner, Mug stall, tshirts stall, bat stall, windsock, red practice snake(10 donuts) yellow practice snake(10 donuts), purple practice snake(10 donuts) green practice snake(10 donuts), Hot Tub(60 donuts), Cobblestone Wall(Free), Springfield Park Entrance(Free), Limo(40 donuts)., grasshopper (35 donuts), Duff Barney Blimp(70 donuts), Duff Bus(50 donuts)Frinkosonic MHV(35 donuts) Inflatable Gorilla (30 donuts) Excellence Statue(20 donuts) Laramie Vending Machines(Free), Devil Donut Carts(Free).
55 total items in 6 weeks!!!!! 30 free(in game cash), 25 premium. If you bought one of everything it would have cost 1,495 donuts. Going off the price of a boatload , that's just over 60$ U.S. to own one of everything that's been released in April/May(so far).
Side note: if you didn't get the Whacking Day prizes for free than you'd have to add 40 donuts for the Snake Rocks, 90 for Duff Stadium, 190 for the Coliseum and Tatum, and 225 for Miss Springfield/Sleep Eazy. That's an extra 545 donuts bringing the total to 2,040 donuts in 6 weeks(minus the 12 free donuts we got on the 23rd of April, so 2,028)
Final numbers:
12 buildings- 7 free, 5 premium
11 characters -7 free, 4 premium
(6 free characters that have jobs, 1 taskless-free)(2 premium characters with jobs, 2 taskless)
4 skins- 3 free, 1 premium.
Decorations-12 free, 16 premium.
As you can see, ONLY the decorations have had a higher number of premiums than free, and that's because of the yard sale.
Great post Chrisp530. Good to see that there is an even spread of items. Though, nearly 1500 donuts needed for 1.5 months!! . I hope EA reduce their prices, at least by a little. However, did think the premium items in the yard sale were reasonably priced (except the dog and maybe the grasshopper).

Thank you! Just wanted people to see that we do get plenty of free stuff, and the premiums are just extra, not buying them won't ruin the game. I agree, 1500 donuts is a lot for that short time, I think a price reduction would bring in a whole wave of new customers.

Some good info. The only thing is I'm not sure if this wave of items is going to continue, as whacking day and season 24 finale are pretty major events in the Simpsons world and they've had quite a while to prepare for whacking day. Same goes for the 2 for 1 characters (Lenny and Carl, legs and loui). We've never had this much added before maybe they were just trying to increase output with all the complaints they've been getting over the past couple of months. Anyway I don't see it continuing at this rate guess we'll have to wait to find out

I agree, especially now that season 24 has ended. However, the raw files are jam packed with a TON of new content, so who knows. At the very least, I expect will get Squidport, level 30, and level 31 within the next 6 weeks or so, just because all the stuff for it is already in the files with full quests lines and dialogue.
My game seems to be constantly crashing again, just like it did a few months ago - it goes to the 'cannot connect to server' page 3 times before I actually get into my town, then continues to crash while I'm on it every few minutes or so and it's so annoying! I thought it was just with the whacked out update because of all the snakes & everything but it appears like it's continuing now that it's over

Having an active game and playing it IS the reward. If you're looking for more than that, you're delusional.
