Hey I've noticed this problem AFTER I completed the task so I
think it may be an update glitch.
Can you try putting ur phone on charge and play for two hours
over wifi as they complete the task.
I don't know it'll work but hey, I replied so if you try it let
us know.

This would happen to me, but only if I moved a building or built something. Have you sent them on a date and closed the game after the task has started?

It's only a two hour task, so you should be able to complete the task.
I completed everything in my town put everone on tasks, moved the odd decoration etc. then lastly gave CBG and Agnes the two hour task and leave the game without moving anything. 2 hours later the task should be completed.
