Warning Regarding Purchasing Premium Items - Ongoing Major Glitch

I have recently had the dreaded glitch where the game is made unplayable with the character heads in the top left corner not working, recycling depot, Springfield heights broken etc...

Anyway unfortunately the day before this happened I had spent 350 donuts on the St. Patricks Day Mystery Box. The only solution I had was the team to perform a roll back to before this. I agreed as I knew from the forum that this was the only way to get the game working again. However while I expected that I'd lose the 5 MB items I thought my donut total would return to how it had been at that point in time. I am now speaking to EA who are flatly refusing to do anything to address this situation. I will keep pursuing this but its not looking hopeful at this time.

Going forward I am always going to stagger purchases over the time period they're available as otherwise you may lose the lot and the sprinkles as I've found out. It may be worth everyone considering this strategy as the bug that hit me is a nightmare! If you do need a roll back your loses won't be as bad hopefully.

  • Same with me, my game glitched yesterday, I got them to roll it back today, and none of the issues or glitches are even fixed. This is so frustrating.

    Make sure you are logged out of the game on every device it's installed on and get them to try the roll back again. It took two attempts for me.

    in regards to losing money, try going through the Google or apple store directly. you might be able to get a refund and then repurchase. for EA support- the key is getting someone on the phone, and not dealing with support chat or email. if you can't get resolution for lost in game items with EA you can also search Reddit for outside help.
  • Thanks I have spoken to two people on the phone neither would help. Neither would the supervisor I asked to be passed on to. I didn't buy the donuts so can't pursue it that way. Probably just need to increase my farm to replenish...
  • I just experienced this glitch right now. A bunch of past mini events said i was outta time but i could still earn the prize. Clicking on the head in the corner just dont work. Event button in top right of the screen is now gone but im only on step 2 or 3 of the prize track.

    Im not calling someone to fix this, if its the end its the end for me
  • This my first ever post (and probably my last). I have been a player and lurker on this site for many years. I really thank everyone for the help I have received during this time but I am done. I had been thinking about abandoning this game anyway due to the grind of my rather large town and this glitch may have pushed me over the edge.

    At this stage in my life I don't have the desire to fight EA to fix my situation. In the past any glitch I have encountered has always been a global one (with lots of attention) and I could wait until EA fixed it for everyone but, due to the lack of posts on this one, I feel it's just me and a few others with this problem so, I am going to save some screenshots as a reminder of the good times and quit.

    Thanks again and goodbye to all the people that have posted to this Web site.

    Sorry you have been affected by this bug too. :( This bug has been around since June 2017 when the ‘recent issues’ thread was started, possibly even before that date. That thread is now up to 13 pages long, with dozens of players saying they have had the problem, so unfortunately it is not an issue for just a handful of people. There has been a sharp rise in the number of players posting with this bug since the recent update.

  • I've logged back in this morning and the bug is back. Think this may be the breaking point for me. I cannot be bothered spending ages on the phone again when there's no guarantee that it won't just happen again. Sad that such a major problem hasn't been addressed.

    Wow I thought ea would have sorted this issue by now as it’s looking to be a big problem. Come on ea fix it

    You are not on you're own, since the launch of this mini event I've had my game rolled back twice (with a loss of donuts each time) and it's also supposed to have been fixed by a game specialist and was fine last night at 10pm(UK GMT), I logged back in again this morning only to find the whole thing start yet again so in less than a week I've been hit with this glitch 4 times now and I just can't be bothered to try and get it rolled back/bodged yet again then start to play while fully expecting it to go bad again in a few hours, it's been a great game that I've thoroughly enjoyed over the years but for me it's become time to call it a day, with that I'll say bye to my great neighbours and hope that you never have to put up with this game breaking glitch.

    Sorry, of course, that you’ve had this happen to your game. But it’s interesting to note yet another case in which a player suffers this bug, gets it “fixed”, only to have it reappear. It does seem in such instances as though some underlying problem “infects” a given player’s game and that EA has yet to figure out exactly how to “cure” the condition.

    Also just got hit by this bug. Opened a support ticket. Let's see how this is resolved.
  • This is awefull I'm really glad I haven't had to experience this yet. I normally make small purchases every now and then, I'll spend money on scratch cards mostly just build up my dohnuts slowly, I don't really have much of a strategy when it comes to farming dohnuts and I'm normally only bless to get in premium building or one of the lucky dip boxes once every maybe 2-3 months? I won't be making any huge amounts of purchases in one go in the future now though, I'll stick to what I've been doing!

    Just to be a contrarian, this bug (or more precisely, the possibility of this bug occurring in my own game) is going to have zero impact on my ongoing pattern of donut purchases. If (God forbid) I get this bug, the very last thing I’m going to be worried about is having lost some donuts.

    I farm some, but not a lot. I’m certainly not in the same league as some forum users. And I occasionally throw a few ducats EA’s way even when I don’t have to just to support the game.
