Thoughts on The Springfield Jobs Event

Prev1
I personally think this event is pretty good so far. I like the craftables and characters a lot. What are your thoughts?

  • Same old, same old, ad infinitum..........it's time for a more creative effort at EA.

I like that they're keeping elements that are good from past events. They didn't lock each item in the crafting area (only by act), the bonus area around the main event building, items that can go in rivers!, etc. Otherwise they can still improve the events. I want the wandering police man locator back, and other good things they do from event to event.

I wouldn't say to expect a lot to change. The game can only go where it goes. So, basically it seems fine. Nothing too complicated (ie new) is good.

  • im glad they brought back the "collect these items to get a little cutscene"-mechanic, excited to see what the other acts will be. also, the new river enchanting items (the bot and the houses) were overdue, they are SUPER nice imo, like most of the other craftables

ea did a great job :D
  • What do I THINK?

I Think therefore I Ham! Steamed Ham to be precise.

But seriously, it's a good event, I love cheese, I love trucks, I love gangsters (mafiosos, what have you) and of course I enjoy tapping.

    My only issue?

We need more members of the Springfield Yakuza, also this event needs more Steamed Hams.

    No nightmares from that. None.

  • I find the craftables and prizes very nice and interesting. I was very disappointed with the previous event and its piles of garbage to win or craft. This event is full of characters and buildings. This is what I like.
  • I'm loving every second of it so far and looking forward to every item we're getting.

  • I like the idea of receiving real buildings (like the tower of Pisa), the prizes are really interesting. The questline is good too, better than Destination Springfield. The crafting items are nice, but a little hard to get for now. The new opportunity to interact with the rivers, with gondola and craftable buildings, is great too. And there are many characters, it's better than the Bart Royal event.
Good event, but I hope it will not look too long.
  • I'm sure it's a great event for some people but I'm personally skipping it. The first time I've EVER skipped an event. It feels weird yet liberating.

I just don't have the time or energy to spend on yet another long event with the same mechanics (only now - as with the last one - with the added nightmare of having to find space AROUND each individual event building).

My Springfield has started to look like a dumping ground and I'm grateful of the time to tidy and rearrange it. If I don't sort that part out then I'll probably just end up walking away from the whole lot!
  • I like events that think outside the box, its nice we can place boats on rivers which shows there is actually still people who are invested in keeping this game fresh. Canal houses are also pretty easy to make designs with.
Though im not a big fan of introducing other countries because its a pain to make it anything like the actual Springfield, its better than a lot of 2016/17 events.
  • I’m really enjoying the event. So far the content fits right next to the Destination Springfield event. Wasn’t a fan of the Halloween and Xmas events last year. Weird content.
  • I’m on the fence with this one at the moment.

The main event buildings are too big as they take up too much space. This would be less of an issue if the land expansions hadn’t been restricted to only being bought by land tokens.

Also I’ve hit the item count so now having to strip trees and other items out of my current designs to make space

Also it’s taking me ages to generate the crafting currency - don’t know why.... content is pretty cool though - lots of design potential.... if I had space

Off the subject: Anyone else try placing other items like the rowboat on river water to see if it would work there, now? Rowboat doesn't work there yet, BTW. But, here's hoping things will change. I want boats for my camping area. So for now they'll get gondolas.

Would love to put any type of boat in the river now. First thing I tried was the donut boat but not allowed yet so hopefully in the future they will allow them all in rivers.

  • I already like this much, much better than the Bart Royale event. Better theme, better prizes, and even with the "craft a land token" nonsense the craftable items are better too. It's won't be difficult to beat Bart Royale's nonsensical storyline either. So far, so good.

I'd like them to add a visual task for a character to swim laps in the canal.

ea "glitched" us the ability to remove the water beneath the gondola. boats in rivers is a game changer, but they probably figured some of us wouldn't be able to wrap our heads around such a change after all these years...
if you hard. then you hard.
  • I love all the new buildings. I'm starting to move things around in my town to make space. The two extra strips of land would've been super helpful but it's taking to much time to attain them. So i'm consolidating the current areas and doing small shifts. I can't wait until everything is released!
