Lenny/Carl permanent task? (Possible spoiler)

This may be a spoiler for some... but is the Lenny/Carl gondola animation permanent after unlocking the Act 1 finale, or is it just a one-and-done thing? If it’s permanent, do I have to complete the finale to see it? I have limited plunder and I’d rather not spend it on a cheese truck if I don’t have to. But the gondola animation could be worth it!
