Act 2 is Broken - Related to IRS & Character Selection Bug

So the current event won't let me continue. It says I need to unlock Act 2 in order to craft items even though I'm in ACT2.
This corresponded with my game developing the known issue IRS & Character Selection Bug
I've requested a rollback. Anything else I can do?

  • You do have to complete all tasks in Act 1 before you can start tasks in Act 2..... other than that see links below, but short answer would be yes, insist on roll back ASAP to fix the broken game glitch.

Here is a post I posted on HOW TO GET YOUR GAME FIXED when hit with this glitch with TWO known solutions:

Here is a post I posted on how to play with your broken game while you follow the steps in the above post to get your game fixed….

  • I got the same problem since yesterday plunderer pete"s dont work it says i need to reach act 2 but I almost finished act 2
  • Well EA never responded to my request to roll back the game and it's still broken.
I had already started act 2 when the game broke with the IRS / Character button, but now, as Hidajeta said, it's not working.

Phone call or chat has a quicker time, if you can do those. Email can take 72 hours or more for a response.
  • EA Helper are useless they only say to reinstal the game and make updates,i sent them 4mails already and still got the problems they cant fix anything
i love this game and after playing few years it will be the best to delete it everything is now buged
  • @hidajeta .... I agree I get the best and fastest resolution via phone. The key is to do not accept their boiler plate canned answers like "We are not doing roll backs anymore" / "They are working on a fix so just wait until an upcoming update" / etc....

You need to always remain polite.... BUT BE FIRM and insist they roll back your game before you get off the phone.

I have had to end a call before because a rep absolutely refused to do a roll back...I just requested another call and the next rep did it willingly and without any hesitation. You simply have to get past the useless lazy reps to get to one who actually cares.
  • Have had my game rolled back twice but when I get to certain point in Act 2 it just stops working properly. EA says they're trying to fix problem. So am still waiting as don't see a point in rolling back again if there is a bug in program.
  • Since the roll back issue is affecting so many. Its not a devise specific issue either as I play on 2 seperate devises. Several have stated they have had their game fix and been reinfected. Could EA servers have been hit with a worm like virus?

If that were true why wouldn’t everyone be affected?
  • Same problems here. This issue seem to be too complicated for EA to fix without serious and negative consequences for the players. Feel so sad about this.
  • I'm having the same issues, and have for over a month. Tried to get the game rolled back before this event started, but they wouldn't do it. Now I'm almost through Act 2 and can't complete it due to the quest bug (It Rains Everyday, Pt 4 - Place police call box in bonus area), as well as the original problems. Getting ready to quit playing if it isn't fixed soon. They did offer me 20 donuts today for my troubles.
  • Having the same issue here. It started two days ago. Cant finish act 2. Also other issues...cant use the rail yard, cant make items in Springfield Heights, and other things are wrong with the game. It's incredibly frustrating. I have been playing the game for a while and I have spent money on this game. I wish they would fix it. This problem has seem to be going on for a while now.
  • Now I've completed Act 2 and still can't unlock Act 2 crafting items in order to finish the quest. I did get 20 donuts for my troubles, but I would rather play the game as it's meant to be played.

You need to contact EA customer service for a rollback if you want you game to be returned to a playable state. Otherwise, it could be, well who knows how long it will take to fix this, if they ever do. This bug is over a year and a half old, so they dont seem to be in any kind of a hurry.

  • These are two separate issues. I've had the "glitch" for over a year. In the current event I finished act two, started crafting items and now the act two items are locked again.

I also had this problem and here’s how I fixed it. I’m what you would call a quest hoarder. I let them stack up like crazy. I currently have like 40 quests so the current event quests were buried. All you have to do is play through the event quest line to be able to unlock everything from plunderer Pete’s. It’s not a glitch, just poorly designed for quest hoarders like me. No need for roll backs, resets, uninstalling and reinstalling. Just dig through your pile of quests and finish the event one.

There is a glitch that cripples peoples games with all kinds of problems, character select button wontbwork, old gil deals pop up, tap radius reset, and much more. For those affected by this glitch, thr crafting can be locked too. I understand what you are saying and it may have worked for you, but this wont work for those that have this unfortunate problem.
