PSA: if having severe lag, disconnect the injury 500 tracks

Replies

  • In addition to the annoying lag, there's another problem that I had not before.. my phone (LG G4) heats a lot, never happened before with TSTO :/

I have a number of characters roaming in my SF that are untappable and can't be selected with the character finder either.

  • The KL characters roaming around generate tickets. So, they are tappable when they have a ticket above their head.

I also found that breaking the Injury 500 circuit returns the game to a playable state. I'm on a Kindle, btw. My husband is on an iPad and doesn't seem to have the lag issue.
  • The problem I'm having is with selecting multiple items: the game freezes for up to a few minutes depending on the size of a selected section. Other than that I'm not having much of a lag while playing. And, no, disconnecting the tracks did nothing...

It's quite bad because it makes it really hard to sell the farmed KEM's and I'm already out of donuts because I blew them all on KL tickets (to buy land)

I'm having the same problem. It's not so much a lag issue for me though there is a lag apparent, it's the issue of freezing for quite a lengthy time when selecting multiple items. I've stored all the krustyland items I can and separated the tracks but it did not fix the problem.

It's somewhere in the comments, I just updated the title and tested to confirm it works.

This is because of the "group" storage now. Before, all you had to do was select a general location to move or store in a radomized location. Now, it depends on the amount of items you are trying to pick up. I still do not think there is a issue with moving items. But storing multiples can generate some lag. This is due to the code processing your exact pattern. And the more items in that group of exact positioning will cause further lag until it computes.

Maybe someone mentioned this but I just discovered that the lag is caused by the itchy or scratchy race car, not the track itself.
If the car isn't activated, no lag.

The lag is caused because of your device. It is not caused by the track

It's slow because I think the game just got much bigger I think. What device are you playing on?

Top of the line Samsung Tablet with 3 GB free storage and 1.6 GB free RAM..... I still have massive lag when trying to unselect group, sell items (KEM farming), etc......

I'm sorry but that does not sound top of the line. Is the simpsons the only app you can have :open_mouth: the S8 has 4GB of RAM and 50GB storage for a little perspective. The top of the line would be a Tab S3. And the Note 9 is going to pack 6GB of RAM

Eventually updates to this game are going to leave lots of older android devices behind. There are so many animations etc going on now, especially with I&S land!

This is a example of older devices holding back innovation for the game. New features could be available... but they ain't ready!
I also found that breaking the Injury 500 circuit returns the game to a playable state. I'm on a Kindle, btw. My husband is on an iPad and doesn't seem to have the lag issue.

So begs the question if a thread should be made about the lower end death of the game. Because it truly is holding back the game. If they are having issues like these with a track. Just figure what is being held back to reach a bigger audience.

  • I have disconnected my Injury 500 also to fix the game lag and jurking animation. Reported to EA hope they fix it soon.

Theres nothing to fix. It's your device capabilities.

    I disagree.
I've got a Yoga Tab 3 which I use daily for TSTO, but I also sometimes use my Galaxy S8+ too, they both lag like a b*tch after the latest KL update, and were both silky smooth before.
Removing a piece of the Injury 500 fixes the lag completely.
With everything else going on with the game (I'm on level 188), building animations, over 150 characters roaming around plus the KR random roamers, Tooth Chipper roller-coaster, all the other KL rides, multiple monorail trains etc, to blame one extra item (the Injury 500) on device capabilities is a cop out imo.
There is clearly a bug and it's effecting multiple players across multiple platforms and device capabilities.

To have to have TSTO as the ONLY app installed on a device is ridiculous. I even uninstalled several old apps and have 4GB free, same lag issue.

I am very tech savvy. You are comparing cell phones to tablets which is not straight apples to apples and comparing to devices till pending release for another 3 months in the future. As time moves on hardware is a factor, but high end devices one generation old (i.e. GalaxyS8 / Tab S2 / etc...) are still more powerful than 80-90% of what is offered brand new on market right now.

On my Tab S2, I Never experienced any lag issues May 29th, TSTO updates and massive lag (literally over 3-4 minutes waiting for response) with group selections on May 30th. I know that land was expanded (which I have a LONG ways to go to get all of it).

But this points to strong probability of optimization that was lost or needed to be optimized by EA with group selection from this update unless EA expects all users to buy sell their one generation old devices and pay $500 to $1200 for a new top of the line just release device or one still pending to be released months from now.

I have a number of characters roaming in my SF that are untappable and can't be selected with the character finder either. They seem to be KL tourists as my town is clear from currency earning ones.

Anyone else having severe lag? I've disabled mono rail and no help at all.

EDIT: I've placed the old KL entrance (where you can exchange tickets for cash). Let me know if you have and if you have KL tourists in your town. The PSA might be to not place the entrance from storage...

EDIT 2: disconnecting the injury 500 tracks restores game to playable state. I also rotated the curved pieces to disable animation.

Note that I tried all the following and did not have success: disconnect monorail, store NPCs and characters on outdoor tasks, reinstalled, cleaned device from extra apps etc.

First off thank you for the solution... should have known after the Monorail debacle but am wondering if youre having the same problem with the Log Ride?

I am... and the same solution worked

  • I'm trying to understand the solution to this lag problem. Finding Maggie is impossible because I cannot scroll through my town. The lag has gotten worse since act 3 of the current event started. If the problem is with the new I&Sland rides, then is EA fixing it? This rapid game expansion came with problems. Trying to scroll through my town is impossible.

The solution is simple, and stated dozens of times in this thread. Disconnect a race track piece to stop the animation. It works as dozens have said. If the log ride or roller coaster cause you the same issue, do the same.

Is EA working on the problem? Well it has previously been posted that there is a "turn off animation" text in the code and it is expected that perhaps in the takedown we will get this feature.

The game has expanded and many devices do not possess the processor power and ram to avoid the lag. My Galaxy S5 can not be used with any of the rides connected , my S7 has them all flying and no lag. When you buy a game there are minimum hardware requirements for it to run at full speed on everything. If you don't meet the specs you have to downgrade the settings to fix it. Consider disconnecting the tracks as the same. It solves the issue and you continue using the game.

If the game survives long enough we will eventually reach the point that many devices will be left behind. This game seems to like lots of free space and lots of ram.

Every expansion comes with issues. Think about it. If you design a game for a certain console, every user has the same hardware, and you solve the issues and all is well. These games work on tons of different hardware, processors, ram, operating systems. There will be issues. They almost always get fixed, and the great people here find work-arounds in the interim.

Thank you Willy9292. While I proceeded to disconnect the rides to improve performance, you appear to have writtena dissertation to 'splain again what was written "dozens of times". I got it the first time. Did not need the attitude.
