Tips needed!

Personally i could never do a full re-design just to much work  I tend to move sections around and re-design that way :) Small sections at a time basically, has worked well for me so far :)

I've been playing since last October and tried to keep up with making it look nice, but now I am in major need to an overhaul, and I really just have no idea where to begin! My first instinct was to put everything into storage (which could take a couple days in itself) and start with a clean slate. Or perhaps it's better to pick a quadrant and go from there. At first glance it is totally overwhelming and would appreciate any input on what others have done. Thanks!
    Just don't do it.
    It's my advice.

If you have the money and dont need to collect rent, just put it all in storage, pick a building and a corner and work your way out.

I use a semiregilar grid structure. So I've got main roads that run all the way through my town and some to make sections. Then I just design around that, moving buildings as and when to best fit.

Don't store buildings, that leads to the risk of accidentally selling them; also loss of revenue. If you can spare some land at the edge to store unused buildings that's a good way to see what you've got left to place.

(This was gonna be a short post.... )

Not too long ago I redesigned parts of my town near the "ocean". I did basically what mpwarner suggested - I stored most all of the plants and trees in the area to get them out of the way. Then moved buildings and houses around (bunched them together in an area), instead of storing them. After that I had room to rework. Eventually I need to redo the rest of my town though.

I'm with Neo. Also I would be worried of losing my buildings if the game suddenly kicks you out as you're moving. I'm constantly tweaking and redesigning but I just don't see the point of redesigning the whole town at once especially if there are parts of it that you really like

I've grown tired of it. I'd like to have a wooded mountainous area, an industrial area, residential areas, etc... I've got some great ideas seeing people's towns on here.

On a side note, I REALLY wish I had an iPad when doing this. The iPhone 5 screen is tiny.

Me three. I could never do a full redesign, too time consuming. And I like most everything, if I didn't I would have already changed it.

I'd change a couple things, power plant prison and burns manor but the rest I've built to my likeing. I'd do it one section at a time or just redesign what you don't like.
