I have absolutely no idea why I use it. Although I've definitely used it for different emotions. I always thought it was for an undeserved sense of entitlement lol. Look at him, that cheesy grin, I'm on to you Mr. Green. (Insert mwdalton's shifty eyes here)

K, well as of now we are tied between Extreme Joy and Sarcasm for people who use greeny.

I tend to use it to express sarcasm or like others mentioned a sort of "just kiddin" or "smart alecky" type of reply.

I am surprised that Envy hasn't pulled ahead.. On first glance I always thought it was specifically for that from the "green with envy" phrase but as I watched people using it I saw many uses and no real consensus.

It is still interesting to occasionally see a disagreement erupt over the misuse or misunderstanding of the emoticon in forums from time to time.
