By not completing the daily tasks. When the second act kicks in the currency from those tasks transfers to act 2 currency. When you complete the three backlogged daily tasks it's a nice initial boost.

You can complete the tasks (and you should) as long as you don't collect the reward.

Ah, of course! (runs off to complete tasks)
Edit: hold on, if I leave the tasks incomplete, aren't I then able to collect from the tasks (ie clearing park visitors) as well as the reward once Act2 starts?

You could if you choose but I still do all that stuff to get event bonuts (set at 4000 event currency for act 1).

Thanks, makes sense. I had a tough time keeping up with this event, so I didn't bother chasing bonuts. I sent Cletus, Homer and a couple of others off on other tasks to clear my task bar.
About halfway through this event I vowed I would remember this strategy myself for once. So now, with all due sheepishness, I say thanks for the reminder. Me think Homer more smart-smart than me.

If you have troubles remembering to do this, one solution is to just skip a few days of challenges at some during the event point so you have two "in the can" early on. Then every day just clear out your third daily challenge.
I save daily task rewards when it's clear I won't be able to get bonuts with the reward. Like tonight, I'll get bonuts without using the daily task reward, so I will be saving. I've never had a problem finishing an act early, so I need the bonuts more.

Been playing this game for a million years and this never would have occurred to me. Many thanks.

I always have had two or three Daily Challenges during events, because when you get three challenges, you can x out one of them (when there are only 3 event challenges), and potentially get a donut reward.

And i opened my game this morning, saw the task completion announcement, and just clicked on it, like I'm a damned robot.
Doh!
At least it was only one.
