Tbh this update is brillant. It's not an update its an expansion and its meant to last for along time. If others want to complete it in one day they can. Iv spent abit to much today and ill proberly get an ear bending from the wife too. But what the hell it's payday tomorrow even tho iv spent alot of still got a ton do.
Why is there always an obnoxious post accusing everyone of cheating if they spend donuts to progress through the updates faster? I love when people on the internet are just so very certain of what everyone else is up to when they have absolutely no clue at all. God forbid anyone here make a decent enough amount of money to afford multiple premium items and/or to speed through quests as a way of enjoying their personal game. Play your game the way you want/can and let others play theirs accordingly as well. It really shows what kind of person you are when instead of getting inspiration from what others do with their towns, you get resentful and jealous because you can't have the same. Pathetic.
By the way, you can have a non-cramped very decent Squidport without owning the maximum tiles allowed. I've seen enough examples which were accomplished through 'legitimate donuts.' If you feel pressured to buy donuts in order to speed through everything that's on you and your own personal issues. I've got a brand new stack of donuts just sitting here because I have this thing called patience and common sense so I'm not wasting them on a bunch of free tiles even though I could. After weeks of nothingness, finally there's something to do and yet there always has to be some kind of manufactured drama on the first day. Worry about people clicking on your pier and losing your tiles until that glitch is fixed, everything else is all in your head.
You really can't tell much of a difference between a hacked or legit town. There a lot of people who have spent small fortunes on this game and would look like a 'hacked' town to most players.
There are also other ways of attaining donuts. Many have taken advantage of glitches. Some really had no choice with some of the glitches.
Live at let live. I'm actually glad we have a few modified towns on the board so I can see screenshots / get information on stuff right away. Stop * about seeing pics of modded towns and be glad someone is doing all of that so you can see what you have to look forward to.
Whats the rush in getting tiles quickly anyway? Even if it takes a few months to get all of the tiles, I have been playing for about 6 months. It seems no different than sending people on tasks (if you log in everyday anyway)
I wouldn't mind a few months, I actually prefer that to 1 or 2 weeks, nice to spread it out a little.
Maybe Hackers will get theirs one day and be locked out. That's all we can hope for
As for the year long thing to get all tiles, I do think its a bit much. I think 8hrs should be the max for getting these tiles. I have no idea what EA were thinking.
Lets hope that with the next content update, they will lower the amount of time it takes. I would think they will be getting loads of complaints regarding just this alone. I'm sure they will fix this for all of us
Anyone on here that has me for a friend will think I hacked. I have everything and all the boardwalks.
I really dont care what people think. The money I have given ea is insane and no one will hurt me calling me a hacker.
Belive I paid for everything or call me a hacker wont effect me at all.
If I could post my town on here I would. Looks like crap but everything is there.
Im going to check your town out now i didnt before cos on my screen it says you havent logged in for over 4weeks
Me too!! I actually removed him as a friend because it said he hadn't logged in for over 4 weeks and then I hadn't seen him posting here either. I figured old WalterCartman had given up on the game.
In a sense, "hackers" and those who buy copious amounts of donuts are equally spoiling their fun based on the arguments for fun being spoiled. Just a thought.
There is ways to be relatively sure that a town is hacked though. Extra items that you should only have one is probably the best. Still though, I would never call someone out on it. It honestly does not effect me one way or the other, except I'm probably less likely to purchase donuts knowing how many get all the stuff for free. That's more of a problem on EA's end though as I'm still enjoying the game without buying anything.
I don't see the pride in hacking. I mean, it would be great to get everything for free, but it wouldn't feel good knowing it was never earned. :?
Well when I was getting my Bachelor's in Computer Science I took a class with a professor who is part of some national internet security task force. That person (not saying gender in case anybody knows people in that organization) said that true hackers do it for the thrill of getting away with it and there also those who do it because it makes them feel better than others. Then there are those who just see it as a challenge and want to "crack the code".....but these are big time players and not people using some program on a piddly little game.
The military actually employs many of these big time hackers as does the government, they make outstanding task force members because they know the hacking community and they know their "tricks".
And just a bit of trivia fun, the type of hackers are red, white, and black hats. (Some places have other hats like blue, gray, and green). A red hat is an aggresive hacker that works for the government and whose job it is to break into the computer systems of other countries. A white hat hacker works for the government as well and their job is to break into their own government computers to expose any weak spots and then fix them. A black hat hacker are the ones that usually work in a group and they create some of the big time viruses, they also like publicity. Black hat hackers who are caught are often recruited into the government agency that caught them and they become red hat hackers (use their super powers for good! LOL).
And there you have it, the world of the real hackers.

Hacking is extremely difficult and involves serious computational knowledge, not just of coding, but servers aswell.
Downloading a dodgy version and using the exploits a "hacker" has done himself, does not make that person a hacker.
Well said.

But a year???? That's just ridiculous.

I did just move so I was off for a while.

Not a chance..... I will outlast all of you.
Edit: I have been far less active on this board. Alot of new people that just rubme the wrong way lol
Well, I'm glad you are back. You were missed. I don't think you will outlast Neo, he lives in the game or something.

I think it will be a close race to see who lasts the longest
