The Simpsons: Tapped Out Bugs and Issues Thread

  • I checked everywhere but not in inventory, I was missing 7 characters. Thank you. 5 years and that’s a first.
  • We need more people to complain about the aspect ratio being off and not being able to zoom out!!! Anyone else having this problem?!
  • The aspect ratio is off AGAIN! This really makes the game unplayable. And I don't understand why we can't zoom out enought to see MOST of our game! What the deal!!! Whey is it so important to just be able to see just a very small part of our games??? I don't get it! Anyway ... FIX THE ASPECT RATIO PERMANENTLY!!!

Who exactly do you think you’re yelling at? No one from EA is gonna be reading your post.

Yes...they do! They said they DO read these!

  • Again...you're an idiot.
  • How many other people have the same problem with zooming out? Please respond. Thanks
  • Again...you're an idiot.

FYI EA help regularly dumps people here when they cant or dont want to help them. They have the worst customer service there is. This is a very well known fact here.

And @KrustyBrand is oneof the most helpful members here. Insulting longtime members wont get you anywhere on here

  • Then don't make absurd, unhelpful, rude responses. I HAVE spoken to EA on the phone and they recommended we also POST in the forums since they monitor them in these areas where there are bugs and issues. And long term? I have been playing since October 2012.

I had a long response typed out, but I just dont have the time for this sillyness. Good luck with your campaign. You are going to need it. Im sure ea has their top people all over it.

Also, I said long term members of the fourm, not players. Youve been a member here for 3 months. When people try to help you, attacking them because you dont get your way doesnt help anything. Jumping on krusty or me wont change the fact that the wonderful folks over at ea help dumped you here. They do it all the time.

I'm done with this have a great day!

I’ll give this one more shot, then call it quits. It’s great that you’re a long-time player. I started playing almost the same time that you did. But you haven’t been a long-time member of the forums. If you had been, you’d know that the EA practice to which you refer has been a very frequent subject of discussion over the years. Certain EA help staffers routinely refer complainants to the forum. This is essentially a strategy to get complainants off of their books and thus close cases as “solved”. While there is some evidence that the EA developers have a general, global sense of what’s going on here (e.g., if dozens of users start reporting a particular glitch, or — God forbid — posting about a game exploit), no one believes that they read each and every user complaint posted here. And, perhaps more germane to your argument, even if the EA developers do have a vague notion about the problems reported by forum users, don’t assume that’s going to translate into action on their part. The resolution/zoom issue you raise has been a known glitch for years. There have been dozens, perhaps hundreds of individual posts about it. The idea that more posts are somehow going to make the powers that be at EA suddenly take notice and respond is simply unrealistic. Another example: As you probably know, during the past couple of years the game has been plagued with a particularly nasty bug sometimes referred to as the “rollback” bug. This bug generated dozens of threads on this forum. During that lengthy stretch of time EA Help referred countless users to this forum, often with the false promise that their posts would be responded to by developers and/or that a fix was mere weeks or even days away. I could go on, but perhaps you get the picture.

In looking back over this rather contentious thread, I am suddenly reminded that my original point in response to your first post was simply this: When you angrily scream in all caps here on the forum, you’re not really yelling at EA. You’re primarily yelling at your fellow forum users and that is not always appreciated (nor, strictly speaking, is it permitted according to the forum guidelines). I’ll cop to the fact that my second response was a bit glib, although I didn’t really intend it to be mean-spirited and I’m not sure it merited being called an idiot. But, what the heck, if that makes you somehow feel better, fine and dandy with me. I’ll have forgotten about it a week. But please don’t quit this thread convinced that EA is going to be responsive to your demands for a fix. Yes, to forestall the inevitable rejoinder, anything is possible; but some events are far, far less likely to occur than are others.
  • What is your problem? Why are you taking up soooooo much of your time on me. Why are you even responding? Why even bother. You're not doing anything constructive. You're not helping ANYONE. You're just negative.
  • Why is it such a big deal that EA doesn't fix the bug to be able to zoom out. Every other game I play, I can zoom out and see most of my game board. What is there to hide? It makes it EXTREMELY difficult to place buildings and decorations and have a nice game. I thought that was part of the game... have a nice Springfield?
  • Ever since the itchy and scratchy land update there is a lag and it's really hard to navigate through my town. It keeps getting stuck and can't scroll thru my town

  • Have a slight problem, in that I have numerous characters apparently staffing the zoominator, the tasks are complete, but even after tapping on the item they still show as doing the task, but it won't release them. Have tried a full re-install to no avail. Anyone got any answers

Usually storing the item will solve this issue

You can't store the gate so store a building associated with a character stuck in the gate, such as Moe's will store Marge and Moe. Store, exit game completely and re-enter.

Good thinking! I didnt think about the fact that you usually cant store current event items. The main ones, at least

Personally I'd say Valve's customer service is worse but all of the big guys have dumped it out the window.

The tap-bixes for Tapped Out are terrible. I surrounded my Jebidiah statue with eight flowers. Later I wanted to select it to move it. The select went through the flowers about 14 times. and then I gave up and just used the Select tool and rotatated the whole square.

Just use the area select tool but only tap on the item you want to move.
