@BeardieMom please only post in one place. The people you quoted wrote that 10 years ago. I am sure your issue is different. When requesting help, please include device, OS version, your issue and how it happens and what specifically you have tried. I will respond with suggestions on your other comment.
I've been playing Tapped Out for a couple of weeks, logged into my EA account the whole time. This evening the game logged me out, and now when I try to login again by clicking on the EA logo, the game just quits back to the homescreen (Android).
I haven't changed my EA account, and I can still login there no worries.
Tried flushing the cache, no change. I really don't want to uninstall/reinstall, because the install took like half a day last time, on a fibre connection.
@Hammerpaul68
Here are some suggestions:
check out your ea account at ea.com
Go to ea.com and log in using your email and password. Once inside check that your primary EMAIL is VERIFIED and add an ALTERNATIVE email address (That you will not lose access to) and a real mobile phone number (useful as alternative methods for security codes), then verify all your details.-
Once you've checked everything, change your password to be less than 15 characters with only letters and numbers in it. (It can take a couple minutes to reflect it in game) Do not change your password while the game is open on a device
other things to try after the accoun:
Change the date and time save and then change back to correct reboot
Make sure you have and keep 8-10 gbs of free space at all times. IOS may need 10% of total free and it lies to you. regularly clear history of spotify and safari if you use them.
Close all other apps before playing
Only use the app icon to open the game not a notification
Close any VPN before opening the game
Use a different device to log in
Use a different connection to log in
Try them all if they don't work contact EA for help
Hello, I need some help and I have no idea if I’m in the right place. The button in the upper left screen that show’s characters who are done with tasks/need tasks does not work. It started in 2017 and I walked away for awhile, but I got a new iPad last year and started playing again so I’m trying to get it fixed. What do I do? I tried the chat option but they said it was a bug and referred me here. Please help!
@drw00083470 I have bad news for you. The only fix for this was to get a rollback to before it started. Contact EA phone or live chat is best if possible, M-F US Business hours, and tell them you have the rollback glitch and need rolled back to 2017.
try to figure out exactly when. I think this bug actually started in 2018. You will lose everything you earned or bought during that time back to the save they try.
@twiliterider
General troubleshooting tips:
Update your device software
Check for any Tapped Out update in store
Log out/Log back in
Restart device
Clear cache
Free up space (some devices may require 8-10 GB free space and Apple devices may require up to 10% of the total space free) IOS lies to you. regularly clear history of spotify and safari if you use them and make sure offload apps is turned off.
Hard close the game and restart
Load on another device
Try a different wifi/connection/internet/broadband
Change the date and time save and then change back to correct reboot
Close all other apps before playing
Only use the app icon to open the game not a notification
Close any VPN before opening the game
Accept or decline any pending friend requests
Change your password at ea.com change your password to be less than 15 characters with only letters and numbers in it. (It can take a couple minutes to reflect it in game) Do not change your password while the game is open on a device
For those with iOS15, you may want to turn off Private Relay. The game seems to have an issue connecting when it's turned on.
If connected to EA/Origin: uninstall / reinstall game (Do NOT do this if you play anonymously)
Synchronise your game often by visiting the friend's screen so your game progress is saved https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/How-to-resolve-crashing-freezing-and-loading-progress-issues/m-p/5716153#M122465 https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/80732/how-to-contact-ea-directly/
Hello everyone! Since yesterday I can't see the neighborhood, it's like I have no friends in the game (I am actually supposed to have like 30 friends). I can't see and visit their towns and the problem doesn't seem to go away. I tried it on an another phone, tried to log out and log in again and I don't have to do an update. Does anyone know how to solve the problem? :')
If you have rebooted several times and it has been hours you will have to contact ea to make them aware it is not the normal issue. They could be working on the servers or it could be a new bug
There is a major bug with this game, which really needs to be addressed. When I am doing a money harvest from my house farms, if the game crashes, I lose whatever donuts I would normally have collected. My game is currently over 1000% in bonus XP points. With each money harvest, I am currently gaining 33+ levels for a total of 99+ donuts. If the game crashes while I’m harvesting those donuts, the game loses everything that has not yet been leveled up. I’ve literally lost thousands and thousands of donuts due to this error. Why isn’t this information stored before all the donuts have been completely collected?
It happened again to me today. There goes another 90 donuts down the drain that I will never see.
I am running on an iPhone 13 Pro with all the latest update to iOS.
This problem has been going on for the last four+ years. There’s got to be some way you can save all the buildings that have been tapped and account for them, even if the game crashes.

1) Frank Grimes has vanished from my account for years now - I find this a little funny, since it's Grimey of all characters that this happened to, but contacting EA was of little help. I have the Forgotten Gravestone in my inventory, but if I put it into my town and back into my inventory again, it says that 0 characters are associated with the item.
Given that Frank Grimes is (from what I can recall) the only case where a premium character isn't immediately unlocked once their item is placed (once the gravestone is placed, you need to complete "The Tell-Tale Plant Worker" before he'll show up), I'm guessing it might be a problem with that.
2) I can't complete "Moving In Hex-Filled Circles", the questline for Princess Opal. In part 3, she has to read tarot cards, but when I got her, I also got a questline where her and the Fortune Teller have to read tarot cards.
I completed the quest where both of them read tarot cards, which has seemingly made it impossible for Princess Opal to read tarot cards on her own. (the icon for the quest has a red circle with a white line through it, and no matter how many times I select for her to read tarot cards, it doesn't register) Putting the Tarot Table into my inventory and taking it back out doesn't do anything.
I could probably contact EA directly, but I figure I should mention it here in case others are running into the same issues.
The game crashed on me twice today, both times while I was doing a money harvest. The game knows how many XP points have been harvested as soon as they are tapped. Why isn’t this information saved??? This is such a simple thing to do. But because that information is not saved, I lost at least 180 donuts today as a result!!!! Yes, that’s a lot of donuts! You REALLY need to do something about this, so that when the game crashes, I can recover what was lost.
I am furious about this. I put a lot of work into this game and have invested well over a couple thousand dollars and I’m not reaping the rewards I deserve.
@aValIs4NU
What is their incentive to make it easier to farm donuts and not buy them. They are not crashing it on purpose. the game is 10 years old and is crashy.
If you are losing that many donuts when it crashes and you know it crashes, don't put down so many RTTs or BMs at a time or don't tap too many kem at a time. let that collect then tap or place some more. I do 12 when the servers are good and 6 when the servers are bad.
The game crashes every time I try to visit one of my friends since I updated to the iOS 17 public beta a little over a week ago. I understand that it’s a public beta and that there’s going to be issues, but it’s been a while and I still haven’t seen a fix yet.
