What's caused you to drop a neighbor?

Besides a neighbor being inactive what are some other reasons you've dropped them?

I just unfriended a guy because I noticed he spelled out support of a certain person for the 2020 election. Petty, I know, but that's my choice. (And yes, I looked at the surrounding area to see if it was part of a theme for that area of his town, but no, it was clearly just a message to visitors.)

if you hard. then you hard.
  • If I had all the time in the world I'd redesign my town as an exact replica of a friend's town, just to mess with them when they visited.

Lag. For whatever reason, some neighbor towns become very difficult to navigate because of a lag issue in their particular Springfield. If they've been a good, long-term neighbor I'll hide their town for a month or two and check back in on them. If the situation has resolved itself then it's all good. However, from what I've seen, most neighbor towns that start lagging rarely ever stop lagging. When that's the case, I have to drop them.
  • Inactivity. I want my neighbors to be active, and play the events like I do.

My tolerance for inactivity is 4 weeks/1 month.

  • I deleted the neighbors who were engaged in cheating (hacking).

This is going to sound silly, but how would someone invade your privacy? There's no communication except on the forum. Do they DM you or something?

Also, aside from inactivity I sometimes unfriend people depending on their design. Not because I don't like it or anything, but some players have no roads in their town except one spot. So I have to scroll through their entire town trying to find the spot so I can tap on people (during events).
  • So far just for 8 weeks of inactivity, but if I saw the meesage the OP saw, I would drop that neighbor.

Thats easy. When I see they haven't logged in in over 7 months. lol.....that tells me they are never coming back to the game. I usually don't even wait that long. Even 2 months away from the game tells me they have given up on it or something.

Don't increase the Item Limit? Then I don't play. Period.
  • I dropped one because during the I&S event as he placed 3 of the same KrustyLand debris letters next to each other which I found offensive, but considering the amount of redesigning everyone had to do at that time I gave him the benefit of the doubt and hid him for a few weeks but, still there when I went back. I'm considering dropping 2 more as I suspect them of dubious gameplay methods. During the past couple of events they've had an extraordinary amount of content, which I accept can be explained by spending a whole heap of money on buying donuts (I say buy because they're both under lvl 300 unless there are legitimate ways of getting oodles of donuts for free that I don't know about) but I now think that 1 must've been using dubious methods during Bart Royale as they had the ruffian fort at least a week before the act it related to started. Plus I don't get rewards for the actions I perform in their towns, when I tap, things just disappeared and no pop-up box saying you've helped whoever all you can today, unless that's just a random oddity which sometimes happens? I know that last bit maybe a little off topic, for which I apologize

  • Over the years I have had to delete all my nieghbors a couple of times to get through glitches in the game. I also Deleted a few that had towns that went from small and humble to huge and extravagant literally overnight. A lot of that was from a glitch exploit and some were probably black market donuts. I have had to grind to get where I am in the game and that instant “success” just irritated me.
I keep a number of inactive nieghbors simply because they can sometimes be the easiest to collect from in certain events. I have deleted a few that were jerks on the forum also. Lol.

Same with me. I like to design. Although lately with my surrounding area I've been laying things outside of the town zone. I like to see people make effort with the game. I like my neighbors to put some effort to making a nice town. Not just laying everything where ever with no roads.

I've also dropped people if I suspect unfair play or inactivity.

  • @tapebelt lol! dun dun dun.....!
  • I don't mind if my neighbors get items WAY ahead of schedule. The only reason why (which is kind of selfish) is because it gives me a chance to see the item in an actual town. Then I can decide if I like the look of it and helps me think of designs beforehand. So when the item drops I'm ready :) If I don't like it then I don't waste my donuts. Terrible I know :#
  • I dropped neighbours that stopped playing in weeks. And also those in the past that I suspected were not playing fair. I also drop a big chunk during my recent top left character button not working glitch as I read somewhere that it might be due to neighbours.

  • Landscaping swastikas, too many hills (an obvious Hillary supporter), and someone was trying too hard in Springfield Heights, forcing me to go back and work on the Heights which was horrible until it occurred to me they could just be unfriended. Some densely packed towns didn't allow visitors to scroll they were so loaded with hoardings, which is the ultimate success story for a hoarder. Right? A couple people just left a full sentence for their girlfriends to read, but it came off as really needy or reaching , to where it got uncomfortable, and if it's still there a month later you kind of get the impression it was a failed attempt, you know? Also, when someone looks like they're really enjoying Duff Garden way too much.
