I delete people after that don't play for a few months, don't have roads, dump everything, have designs I don't like, or whatever, but accept new people on the reg. It's nice to see how people use different items.
There is no social game so I'm not attached and don't necessarily need neighbors. There ~are~ a handful of people I still have as friends for nostalgic purposes. They haven't played in forever but I can't bring myself to delete them.
Lag. For whatever reason, some neighbor towns become very difficult to navigate because of a lag issue in their particular Springfield. If they've been a good, long-term neighbor I'll hide their town for a month or two and check back in on them. If the situation has resolved itself then it's all good. However, from what I've seen, most neighbor towns that start lagging rarely ever stop lagging. When that's the case, I have to drop them.
They probably have the animations for their I&S Land rides turned on. I turned mine off more for my visiting neighbors' sake than my own (although, in the rare times I have to pay using a device other than my iPad, those rides cause problems for me, too).
Years ago there was a thread about someone who did something like that. Not the entire town but sections of it. I wish I could find the thread because it was pretty crazy.
Generally I only delete those who have not been there for many weeks, except those to whom I am attached but some of those that I eliminated a little I miss ....
I deleted one neighbor in the past because it had swastikas all over...otherwise just inactivity. Oh and I did delete a neighbor once who was always complaining about people vandalizing their town, that was ridiculous!
I have a couple neighbors whose towns are annoying because for some reason, I can never find whatever we’re supposed to tap. The towns are huge and well-designed, but the streets are empty. It takes forever if I use their towns to collect event currency. I may drop or at least hide them.
If I had all the time in the world I'd redesign my town as an exact replica of a friend's town, just to mess with them when they visited.
Omg funny you should say that. I have a neighbour who copied my town inch by inch. I saw him copy A few things at first so didn’t think much of it, that’s fine. I was kinda flattered, means mine must look good right?... Then one day I went to check and he had nuked his town and was copying every single bit!
More fool him though, I hit the item limit a while ago and changed some stuff up. He hasnt touched his designs since just dumps new content. I can’t bring myself to delete him as I’m too intrigued to see if he’ll copy my new layout

That's hilarious. I wonder what they were thinking as they were carefully placing everything in their town exactly as per your design... and whether your changing things up quicker than they could respond drove them to despair.

Yeah... I probably enjoy my Duff Gardens way too much. Although, I only have 4 of those dolls in my town.
