OT (sort of): I'm currently working with my SECOND fur-baby that has kidney failure. Don't give up! My first and extra special, once in a lifetime love, Elvis, lasted 3 1/2 years after going into total failure, and Presley now is in her second year (but she wasn't as bad). Please learn how to give your kitty sub-q, and she/he can be around for a long time, repaying your love.

Thank you so much for your assurance--everyone I talk to says she is just going to be gone in a matter of weeks. she is in such good health otherwise; it only showed up in her yearly wellness screening. My friends chipped in to help me take her to a feline internal medicine specialist, and we had all kinds of blood, urine, and ultrasound tests done. She's on k/d wet and kibble, and potassium supplements. Thankfully, she drinks like crazy and is one of those kitties who loves it, and loves to shove her paws in my water, so we aren't to the sub-q phase yet. She has saved my life through losing my parents and my divorce, and the work accident that resulted in spinal fusion, and kept me outof work for the past 3years. she's a true angel in fur, and I'm just not ready to lose her yet!
