Don't you guys get oldschool vibes from this event so far? For me it gives me a little vibe to the past when events were not as content rich and minigame filled. Maybe it's true that EA doesn't earn as much from TSTO as it used to so the content gets a little.... weaker....... still, great job tho, there aren't many games that don't have ads and keep the game updated basically all the time.
Who the heck came up with this last week's moldy TV dinner of an event? Where is our xmas event????? You're fired, you're triple fired, I've never been so disappointed in this game
And the only thing in my mystery box were the funzos? I've never liked the funzos.
I'll go check out something on Netflix and overdose on cookies.
Can't please everyone I suppose. After looking at all the spoilers this looks like it's going to be my favorite winter event yet. Just a matter of personal tastes I guess.

I've complained about it since this morning. I've said my piece. That's enough. Now it's time for me to start trying to enjoy it. At a certain point, it's no longer the game that's making me surly but rather my own attitude. There is still plenty for me to like in spite of my previous complaints so I'll start focusing on the good stuff.
I don't really care for the mini event format, and usually they are 3hr tasks but this is 4hrs. The same grind schedule as a big event only more boring. I miss Christmas with presents falling from the sky and giving neighbors gifts. Rod and Tod sledding, Homer making a snowman. Bart as a toy soldier.
Wow- huge disappointment and fail!!! I’ve been playing this game for 6 years and Christmas has always been the best event. This is just a garbage mini game. Your creative team has failed and should be replaced or whoever okay’d this event.
All people do is complain about how long and complicated events are so EA listens and shortens the event and simplifies it and everyone still complains. I love this event.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.
I actually like the idea of several mini-events. The grind of an event can be tedious sometimes. Previous winter events I wished I could have enjoyed more of the winter skins and tasks but couldn’t because characters were needed for the grind. For example, I couldn’t be sending Santa Homer on tasks since Homer was a character who generated event currency and I needed to earn towards the next prize befor time ran out.

There were certainly worse major events in 2018. It's not what I expected (and it's hard to beat last year's event which was really great) but I'm sure it will be fine. There should also be a really nice surprise coming up in a couple weeks for most players who aren't donut rich or real long-time players.
Gone are the great days of the elf cannon and colourful presents fallingfrom the sky. A better time. This feels like a Brexit event. Or weak snow in the middle of February.
I got over my initial disappointment. I think my expectations were just too high.
I was hoping it would be something new and interesting in four acts, maybe a fun story line with different types of things to do. It just feels like a non-event, with snow.
Some music and giving out presents to neighbours would've helped a little.
i miss the beloved 2013 holiday wheel.. but that was back when they hadn’t run out of reoccurring characters. that was actually my favorite thoh update and christmas update, 2013 that is...
a close second was the year they gave us maggie, then they changed the updates into phases so you couldn’t buy it all on day 1 and start complaining on day 3 you’re tired of the event. now i have so much crap in my inventory and my springfield it just looks ridiculous. i miss the game when you just had houses and school lol, now i use maybe 1/10 of the content from each update to change my town and inventory the rest. that’s why i wish they had more skins, like moes family feed bag should of been a skin, more skins! too much inventory and i’ll never use it again. would be cooler to change my buildings at each time of year. anyway my adderall has kicked in obviously and i need to start some actual work. merry christmas tsto community and try to be in the spirit! it’s not even real stuff it’s virtual stuff so it’s not that big a deal, just enjoy it!
Trouble with Christmas events is you get decor that won't exactly look hot in your town the other 11 months of the year. Like roasted chestnuts.
As a new player I have to ask, what will the 'festive' lamp-posts do? Will they turn to normal lamp-posts the other 11 months, or do they get decor during other Events when regular lamp-posts wouldn't (like Valentine's Day) or what? I got so many it's basically a prompt to replace most of my other lamp-posts.
And where do I get those snazzy light skins that all my friends have? I could do a Bloodmobile Drive any moment now but I don't want to do it before I need the money.

Merry Christmas.
