Not everyone complained about it. And I'm guessing the people that are less than thrilled with this so far (like me) weren't part of that crowd. Kind of presumptuous of you to imply that.

Here's the thing, while you were not complaining about the 3 act grind, you ARE complaining. Correct? So, QUIT YOUR BELLYACHING, YOU BIG LOSER!~Grampa Simpson

Are gifs still a thing? If anyone can find a gif of that quote, I will be your best friend. I have been wanting to reply to all the complaint threads with my bellyaching quote for years and today, I'm just **** enough to do it.

ETA~I'm going to be the person that complains about the complainers!!!! Don't think the irony is lost on me!

So EA comes out with a less than satisfactory event IMO and you're the only one who gets to have an opinion? Yes, I am going to say my piece if I don't like it. Apparently EA pays attention to these threads, however selectively. I seldom complain about events (though I have been raising my voice plenty when it comes to the stuff they've been ignoring us on for ever a year -FIX IT EA!) but I'm going to say something if I'm not satisfied. And to be fair, I have said I'm maintaining hope that it will improve.

I'm perfectly willing to allow for others who have the opposite opinion to state it, so long as they don't deride the unhappier tappers. Insulting people and telling them to shut up is poor conduct on this Forum. And that's not my opinion.

BTW, "quoting" Grandpa Simpson doesn't make it less insulting, and sarcastic humor does not come across in text.
  • This is a massive over-reaction. EA don't owe us anything, so we should be lucky they're still supporting the game and it remains ad-free.

Plus one of the first prizes comes with a land token.

No...EA is selling a product. Therefore they do owe something to us. Keep the customer satisfied. The fact that they haven't is why I haven't bought donuts, even as a donut farmer. And believe me, I have been sorely tempted.

I disagree, however, that the game is dead, and I do agree that is a massive overreaction. I'm still going to play. I just really hope this isn't the standard for events going forward.
  • Nope games dead, read the OP. Pack it in boys. Delete the app, bury your phone in the yard, toss your tablet in the trash, burn your house down.

  • Complainers, complainers about the complainers, complainers about the weather.

This is a forum. No one forces anyone to read it. No one forces anyone to post. Anyone can say pretty much anything they want here (within the guidelines).

I really find it kind of funny that after all of this time people still think complaining about the complainers, or even making comments similar to the one I am currently making actually makes a hill of beans of difference to anything here, but I can still say it

Oh Yeah, back to the OT...too early to tell whether I am happy with this event or not, but I will say I am relieved that I don't have a grind to worry about with this game for a while, but as for the game dying, I tend to think they might be able to keep things going for a while...seems they are becoming more creative at extracting cash out of us (they even got more out of me.

I'm not sure why the upset. This event follows all other event sequences exactly:

Event released. People complain they cant download it and its too big
Event starts. Multiple threads start. Why I hate the update, this is the end of the game, more why I hate it
People post in I hate it threads that they like it.
People post that the people who like/hate the event are stupid
People post they are leaving the game
    People post goodbye
    Event continues, everyone plays
People post why it was best/worst event ever
    Event ends
People post they are bored and when is the next event.

Merry Christmas everyone. Do a random act of kindness for a stranger. Hug and thank your parents/kids. Repeat.

Congratulations! You just described the internet! :D

But seriously, Merry Christmas to you and yours! :)
  • Well you know, Scrooge said it best "...every idiot who goes about with 'Merry Christmas' on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding and buried with a stake of holly through his heart! He should!"

Bless us every one. Merry Christmas

  • I am disappointed in that the decorations for sale will not fit anywhere and so I will not buy them. If wants me to spend donuts they need to make land available if they won’t that’s ok but at this point my monthly purchase to get the new items will likely be over.

We are getting land tokens in each of the 4 weeks as has been discussed on most threads. 13 tokens is a fair bit of land.

  • The game makes far too much easy money off the whales to die now.

I complain quite a lot but I prefer to complain over the premium part of the game, not what we get for free. Never look a gift horse in the mouth - but when there's something you're expected to pay for, it's a very different matter.

Oh... well... Consider this...i played this game from the first day and i quitted in summer 2017 with the Time Traveling Toaster 2017 Event ....i was too burned by grind.
After more than 1 year this winter i installed it again ...you know... the feeling to see the "Xmas in Springfield" :D:D:D ...and i've found that "playable" ...i mean.. "not so grindy"...and i'm happy to be back again! :)

Is this the first day of the event?
Are you whining about it already?
    Don't play then. Get lost.

When are we getting a mute function for people like this?

Entering a whine thread to whine about the whining, and then ask why you have to see it. How fresh. Anybody who doesn’t feel all squishy about the direction the game is going has every right to voice his opinion. How about *you* get lost? Go post in the “How I love this event!” threads.

People who disagree with the OP can justify their opinions by mining the event for things that aren’t horrible, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a rubbish event, and a precipitous decline for a game that’s been on a serious downward trajectory for some time. For those who think EA is just responding to repeated calls for simpler, less time-consuming events, well— wake up. As the profits fall, so does EA’s interest in maintaining quality and interest in the game. That’s one business model. Thank goodness there are others
