Basically, you are resetting the clock when you tap a dollar sign above a building in your neighbor's town. The building will then pay out faster than normal for you neighbor after they tap on it following your visit. So it helps you neighbor earn cash and xp faster if you tap on buildings that take a long time to pay out like Mr. Burns' house. Also, if you spray paint buildings, you are giving your neighbor a chance to make money when cleaning it up on a building that doesn't pay out money or Xp.

^What he said, but just wanted to add, if you see a neighbors crop has wilted, you should tap that too, it will refresh and it reset the timer for them. Some people don't like having their buildings spray painted because it lowers the righteousness rating but there's no way to know, so just go for the buildings with the highest payout(longest timer), the buildings that don't pay out, or the crops.

Very true, thanks. Yea I always go for a crop or the buildings with the highest pay when available and will only spray paint if my only choice is to spray paint or tap on Simpsons' house, Flanders' house, and a brown house.

Usually I'll tap the buildings that have a longer timer and spray one just to cover all my bases, cuz the righteousness rating is unbelievably unpredictable.

Just like others in this thread said, I usually only spray paint 1-2 buildings, even if I have to tap 1-2 brown houses because righteousness changes for no reason. For things like the crops, I only tap that if they look wilted because it doesn't reset their timers. Feel free to spray paint mine. It never seems to affect my rating except once in a while. (I was going to say you could add me, but as it turns out, you're already my neighbor. :-) ) I recently deleted some neighbors and added some new ones for the same reasons you gave in your post.
