Goodbye Leon Kompowsky...

  • Yeah I read that but it was on a fairly right wing publication so it all sounds like a bit of a hidden agenda just to eliminate an immigrant.

    What Simpson's character isn't a stereotype?
  • I would love it if EA stick their two fingers up at the nonsensical Michael Jackson boycotts over a one-sided documentary and bring Leon Kompowsky back as a free character for all.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

What's EA got to do with it? At this point the focus is on the TV episode - has anything been said about the character in relation to TSTO? Besides, it's Groening's IP and his team can do what he wants with the character.

Nothing, but they are in a powerful position enough to make a statement that these Michael Jackson boycotts are ridiculous. Making Leon Kompowsky a free character for those of us who don't have him would be the perfect way to say 'stuff you' to the whole 'guilty until proven innocent' notion.

They don't care about making a statement, they care about making money. Giving away characters runs contrary to that, lol.

Sometimes statements need to be made, for the good of humanity. 'Innocent until proven guilty' should never disappear as a motto.
  • I have put the character in storage, alongside Arnie Pye and anyone else with flying tasks. What anyone else does is up to them.
  • I rarely watch The Simpson's, so I never saw the episode. The character should remain, but any reference to a voice of Jackson should be removed.

It's always easier to talk about statements when it involves money that isn't yours.

The thing is though he will never be proven innocent or guilty. Everybody is just going to make their own mind up. So doing anything in support or even just remaining neutral looks to many like supporting a sex offender.

Especially as Jackson was in entertainment and as many will see it the truth did not come out. Any companies in that sphere not seen to be doing the right thing can be seen as complicit in yet another cover up.

A cover-up that doesn't exist because he was already cleared of sex offences anyway.
