Is TSTO dead?

Replies

  • It's times like this that remind me of the last words my Grandma said to me just before she passed away... "Hey, what are you doing in here with that hammer?"
  • It's dead.

Events were cut from 45 days to 30 days because everyone got bored with that format. They are not doing that to cram more events in a year.
  • After reading the comments its clear that this is no place to talk about "THE GAMES END" because some of the so called "REGULARS" of the forum...you know...the ones who live and breath this game, will just gang up on an innocent post concerning the games status. I get it...you lived your lives dwelling on this forum that you've already seen all the post about "TSTO IS DEAD" but the disrespect is just unreal. You don't have to gatekeep this forum to the point that you wanna ask someone to leave this forum and never comment again smh

Well, it has to end someday. There's still so much content, I hope it sticks around for many years to come. TSTO has become a part of my Halloween and Holiday Time traditions. It is curious that they suddenly unlocked so much land and that almost every premium decoration is now available for 30 donuts. Can you image if someone actually spent hundreds of real dollars getting all of those decorations and then EA shuts the game down? That wouldn't be nice.

  • Once again I’m disappointed that all someone does is express a thought and gets criticized for it.
They’re segmented as not ‘regulars’, they’re ‘tiresome’, ‘millennials’ and more.

A simple, ‘No, I don’t think the games over.’ Works just fine, but it’s in your nature to be insulting, belittling, and overly critical.
I wish you could see how small and trivial you sound. I know I’m wasting my time. The last thing you’re interested in is self improvement. It’s a lot easier to type the first mean thing that comes to mind.
I kinda pity you because while good people progress, you’ll always be the same.

Seeing as how I scored all three of the terms you've listed...

You were putting the question to EA which is fair enough, but there’s a community of regulars here who find the subject tiresome.

    and pfft, millenials...

Insulting... belittling... overly critical... Really? :o

Forum etiquette isn't new. Anyone who wanders into any forum and creates a new thread on a well-worn topic will likely get a similar response. I've done it myself. I copped the inevitable reaction on the chin and moved on. I won't be asking the V8Bandits regulars whether the Prius spells the end of the fuel-combustion engine again, that's for sure.

  • I don’t think it’s dead yet, because surely they would come out with a press release or something by saying we are not committed to the game anymore, that’s it etc.
It’s clearly just a break in events, or that’s what it seems, maybe the main developers or people in charge of the game just needed a nice break, and ea were ok with that(everyone needs a holiday right)to be honest, I’m ok with all this, it’s given me a chance to do other things in my town, clean some things up, tidy things up, improve things, this is something that isn’t easy to do or remember to do on a event because you’re dedicated to the event and want to complete it, and sometimes it’s overkill with event after event , I always felt like I was dedicating my life to this game because at every opportunity, I would try and log on and that included even when I was at work

Let’s hope we do get something tomorrow though because I’ve had my nice break from the game and ready to be refreshed with something new, come on ea, make us happy with an epic update
  • Actually this is nice. I’m not glued to this game and living a real life. I will probably miss when it starts up again since I’m getting used to this and checking in less and less.

Or maybe the developers and people in charge got together and now they're sitting in a bar getting hammered and drawing straws to see who has to come into work at 6AM on the day the event is released to the PlayStore. And one of the developers climbs up on the bar and starts shrieking "let's bring back the Easter wheel!" over and over so loudly that he has to be restrained.

    Just sayin'

Alright folks let's reel it in please and cut it out with the gatekeeping. I get this is a topic that comes up a lot but there's no reason to shut someone out with "millenial" comments and snarky responses.

I've also had to remove a couple comments in here, there's zero need for "cancer" comments, they're insensitive and not tolerated so cut that out please.

    Not dead...yet...

    Just on hiatus...
  • Well, whoever made the “cancer comments”, take a good look at yourself, no words.
  • I get that this sort of post can seem irksome to the old hands that have seen it all before but maybe you might be missing the positive effect that it could have.
By asking the question 2pluss has stimulated an outpouring of "I hope not" responses which shows the devs or beancounters or whoever at EA that there is still a groundswell of support for the game and therefore that it is worth their expense & effort to keep it going.
Maybe if somebody had stirred up a fuss about the Monopoly game that was mentioned in one of the responses then that might have survived also.
At the end of the day, EA are running a (very successful) commercial business which is subject to the laws of supply & demand, the only use they have for sentiment is to generate it in us, their customer base, so that we continue to support their product, in this case TSTO.
So for the record, whoever is listening...I personally love this game, I still play this game and I would dearly love for it to continue indefinitely.
    Thanks for listening.

So, what evidence do we have that we are actually getting anything new soon?

None. At this point, we're just hoping, based on past patterns. But consistency ain't one of EA's strong suits, so....

  • Obviously the game is not dead.
But also it's obvious that it's not the game that it was several years ago.
