A Little Disappointed

Prev1
This is the first event I can remember when nothing new was offered. Everything's from the Tapp Ball event years ago. Might have been nice to have 2-3 new items.
BTW: My Springfield circa Winter 2014: orionsbell.com/simpsons/Winter2014.png

  • Seems they are more focused on having new players purchase recycled content vs the cost of creating new items for long term players. Cost savings model - not good.
  • Is there an event going on right now? I hadnt noticed.
  • But the tennis courts and nice 😉 😉
  • More than a little. Another 2 weeks off.

I just hope this isn’t indicative of the future of the game, limited new content & replays of old events.
  • While I agree that having no new content is very disappointing, the returning items have meant that I've been able to get another missing skin and complete a collection (Toreador Grandpa) and I've also been able to re-design my tapball area and sports fields.

I never got enough fences or bleachers to make a decent stadium before but I'm happy with how my sports field area looks now...

  • At this point, I think I'd be perfectly happy if they just had a complete rerun of the original Stonecutters event, with the same dialogue, same game, same jokes, recycle the same everything except maybe make the Stonecutters robes blue this time so the old timers would have new characters/skins to win, and they'd end up with two sets of characters, and the newbies would experience the real original Stonecutters event and end up with only the blue outfits.

Just a single color change. It would be stupid, but it would beat what they're doing now. At least we'd have some entertainment.

Considering that I started playing right after Stonecutters, and also managed to pick up a lot of the skins in subsequent sales, I'd be down for this.
  • I’d love to get tons of new content every 2 weeks, who wouldn’t?! ... but thinking about it logically, I’d rather they took events slower and spread new content out, in hope that the game would last longer.
Having small events like this in between are great for me to re stock, re design and play around with forgotten bits of my town.
Having said that, I’m totally ready for a massive event like we used to get. Far too many minis lately ;)

    Nope no event.

  • EA may shift gears again, but it sure does look like a gradual wind-down of the game. I actually suggested here a few days ago that they may do exactly this: keep costs low by investing little to nothing in game development, but let it continue on as long as some people keep buying donuts, especially newer players. The game could in theory continue a long time this way with minimal investment.

This is not the first time a content update has dropped where there was only a quest line and no new content was added. (At least for the veteran players)
  • They neglected to offer the skin for the stadium.
  • You can count me as one of those who is very disappointed. This isn't really an event at all.
  • yeah, added a couple more bleachers, but this was a let down with nothing new
PM me- I DO need Good Neighboreenos currently

They should focus on skins and not new characters. We have over 400 of those.

Yea, like Gentleman Moe. EA c’mon!! In 7 years, it’s only been offered once.

  • I could go for repeating past events. I didn’t get to play the whacking day event, for example. People who played those events in the past could skip them if they weren’t interested, or play the event again. But it would be nice to offer something new in those events, since they offered so much in the yearbook. I splurged and gathered a lot of donuts with rat trap trucks and bought nearly everything I was missing (there are 4 or 5 decorations left that i’m Not really interested in).

Another option in lieu of an actual event would be something similar to what we’re doing now, but start it with the release of a new building or character and throw in a couple of prizes along the way, even if they’re just decorations that already exist in the game.
  • They should at least raise the item limit. Then we can build stuff with old items.

I don't see the point in playing an event again unless you never got all the items.

I would like to see a redux of the Classic Mini Events like from 2017. Give us previously played events like Pin Pals, Crook and Ladder (although with a workaround for the friend interactions?), and maybe events like Whacking Day and Springfield Games.
