I can't log in at all now. I got an update and had to log in. I enter my email and password and an error popped up saying, "an error occurred processing the login. Please retry." I reset my password and I'm getting the same error message..
I'm still getting two issues: one is an immediate fail upon launch. The second is occasional crash sowing KeMs. I'm convinced there's still a major issue to be resolved, likely in some kind of handshake failure between servers on their end. Some may be more affected by this than others.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

Just curious.. has your patience run thin @4junk3000 ? I have to be honest and say I've gone from a multiple times a day player to a try and check in and see type of player. I believe, if this continues, I will eventually just stop altogether. Interested to hear what your plans are, if any.

Yes it is, thank you for asking. It's why i try to encourage others to remain hopeful, so we might all help support our spirits together.
But I'm not worried. I'm betting on the hunch that if they were busy with the Kindle zoom bug over the last month, and that took as long as it did, that this issue is next on their to-do list. I see no reason to believe it's not just another issue they'll get to whenever they're darn ready. They've never been prompt - unless it's giving us free stuff.
Fortunately, these mini events don't require much in game action. So I'm doing the 4hr visit just for the mother's day stuff; getting the land tokens every 12; and using the skyfinger once a day. My KeM farm is a mere 54 building crop, just enough to be sold in one Area Select grab. This is proving to be the most frustrating, so I'm doing maybe one field a day.
But I'm ok with this, because my only priority right now is the land tokens. I'm not attempting any new designs until i have it ALL. Anything i get from the yearbook, i just shove off to the side. I'm hoping that by the time i own all the land, that this issue will be resolved. Then I'll get back into heavy town building.
So for now, I'll cut them slack, and dial back my expectations. The game has provided too much entertainment value, almost every day for years! No other game in my life has given back so much. I have to hope for the best. I usually bail quickly on frustrating games, (*cough, Family Guy, cough*) but i also usually hold on (loosely when necessary) to things that matter to me.
I am spending more time playing other games though. Lately it's been Escape the Room games. I like how there's little puzzles, and each room only takes a few minutes if you want to jump in and out real quick. Lately, a tap session with 300 characters is no quick visit to Springfield.
I DO try to keep in mind, that as a level 939 player with bonus >1000%, we are not the typical player. We are a minority at one end of the bell curve. It's kinda like when you go visit a friend at the restaurant they wait tables at, and they give you the worst service because they think they can rely on you not to stiff them. I hate when that occurs but i still remain their friend. But i will bust their balls when they're off the clock later! Lol

@4junk3000 , first of all, thank you for your thoughtful reply as I do appreciate it.
I wish I could remain hopeful but I've always been great at responding to stimuli. Einstein said “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing yet expecting different results.” That is where I'm at. I can't continue to perform the same function over and over again expecting it to suddenly work again for me. I think your issue might not be as severe as mine (and that makes me happy for you, truly!). You mention using sky finger.. I can't do that as the game will crash. I can't collect on buildings and I can't collect when my xp bar fills and opens the donut window. I can't design nor can I scroll through my inventory. My game is unplayable. I used to have the game icon front and center on my iPad. Last week I moved it off and placed it in a folder that I don't often open. I have a feeling I will soon just remove it entirely. But, you know what? Weaning myself off of it hasn't been very traumatic. I've played The Sims since it was first launched 19 years ago. Talk about an unstable game lol!
I like that you are keeping the faith and I hope everything works out for you I haven't pulled the plug completely but I have a strong feeling it will happen sooner rather than later.

This is an interesting situation. Obviously @Jonalinn has it at the extreme end. I am finding issues only when the Origin login servers are involved. When I log out or in to change towns it usually takes 2 or 3 tries. When I am waiting for the age box on logout I frequently have to force close and restart.
Once I am in game, I have essentially no problem. As a test I hit skyfinger and then started clearing completed tasks asap. It took maybe 5 minutes to get everything to register, but it did it without crash. I have other friends in game that report similar experience, only crashing on login and logout.
I remember well "The Glitch" and how I got hit over and over and over, but other family members sailed through unscathed.
This is not typical of a coding issue, with the exception that perhaps it is coding/platform/device combo's that are more vulnerable. It would be interesting to see if someone who can barely do anything has the same issue of a different platform and different device.
I did experience lots of Bart screens just prior to the current event, but they ceased on starting the event. They were also infrequent, and did not stop me from playing etc. The unfortunate thing is that EA does not have a support structure whereby we could submit individual experiences for them to compile.
I feel for those of you experiencing this, the glitch was a horrible time for me as I never knew day to day when it would reappear and I would need another rollback and lose things.
Unsolicited friends requests are all denied. Please PM me.

I'm happy to hear that you aren't having any problems once you're in the game as that should be encouraging to others. I, sadly, am now at the point where even my bart screen crashes. Not sure if I've mentioned this, but I crash at login as well. I've replaced the game several times but found that didn't fix anything. I have the same problems even though I've tried to play the game on multiple devices including 2 iPad Airs, 2 iPad minis, an iPhone 5 (super reliable yet old as stone lol), a new iPhone XR, an iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 and more.
I think as EA stumbles through this they really aren't concerned about the few they lose along the way (me being one of them). But that's just my opinion.

"churn" is always figured into the business plan. They know they're losing older players. But they're getting fresh new players everyday. It's just how it works. How everything works honestly.
Have you considered creating a new install on a different device? I'm wondering if somehow, removing your usual device from the equation, could help. Just a long shot. I would try a fresh install on the newest device you can grab, play anonymously for a day, see if it does anything unusual, THEN log into your usual account and see what happens.
I'm suggesting this because I've stopped playing on my Samsung device, and I'm using either a Blackberry phone or a Lenovo tablet. If your issues are somehow worse because of your brand or model, this test might illustrate it.
If you care to try troubleshooting. I totally understand if you're not interested at this point.

There is a thread on EA Answers about crashing issues with Samsung and other Android Devices. They did ask people to post some info about their system We are investigating this, and it would be very helpful if you could share some information with us. Would it be possible for you to let us know your:
Device Model Number (can be found in Settings > About phone):
Android Version Number (you can take a screenshot of the information in Settings > About phone > Software):
Location in the world (your country):
Network provider:
Last date you updated your OS (Android) for your device:
And also this question: The team is still looking into this, and I'm here with another question from them: could you let us know if you have opted into Samsung's One UI Beta Programme?
Please go add your info to that thread if it seems to match your problem https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/Simpsons-Tapped-out-Freezes-on-Galaxy-S10-and-S10/td-p/7834205

I've created fresh new installs, meaning.. starting from square one... on non-Apple devices. It didn't matter, the results were the same.
Also, imo (and I realize I may be alone in this), but there is only so far a player should have to go to get a game to work. I've been playing TSTO on Apple devices since TSTO was launched. How many years is that now? 7 is it?

I am on a Samsung S8 plus and today has been particularly bad as I couldn't get in with so many Bart screens
@168sean168 Are you having trouble as well? Have you been able to get in and play at least for a little while? If you can, are you able to collect donuts and IGC?

I was having absolutely horrible problems until the event start, but it has settled down considerably. The game does often crash immediately on login, but I get in right away the next try. When I do get the Bart screen, I usually have to force close and reopen the app (hitting "Retry" is not successful), but I can now pretty reliably play and farm RTT's. I only do 10 at a time though as there is about a 50-50 chance of Bart screen with that. It's still not really acceptable, but it's far better than it was, which was virtually unplayable. I think it's absolutely awful that a long term player like yourself @Jonalinn is essentially being forced to walk away from the game.

I haven't crashed for a couple days in a row
