Following the Springfield Guide

Replies

  • Once again you're a great help, so long as I don't have to deal with repeated items I should have no problem getting all the buildings I'm missing.
  • Knocked off Krusty-Lu Studios and Motherloving Sugar Corp this morning. The Sugar Corp is an awful shap with that truck attached.
  • It really is one of the most oddly shaped things in the game.

Is there a Quick & Fresh on the map? Or Crouching Panda?
  • No, those two are not on the map.
  • @EllieGuseman Do you have the link to the list of places on the guide nearby?
  • Back on page 13 of this thread I listed everything on the map, but I have not updated it in a while. You could copy it into word or text program and use search for the item you want to know about. I'll see about making a list.

Thank you. I failed to go back far enough.

I used to follow that list. It's nice now, since I have all buildings, that I can just check back here and see what's new and where it goes. Thanks @EllieGuseman
  • @Djudge999 @EllieGuseman , someone awhile back put together a list of ALL buildings actually ON the map. I copied it to my computer, but don't use it anymore. It's a thread on the forums somewhere. I stumbled across it a few weeks ago, but can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyway, just some fun info.
  • Thanks to everyone for maintaining the topic. Just got back into the game after two, almost three years, after my last iPad couldn’t handle the Monorail without crashing. I’m crushed by what I missed, but remain optimistic about it maybe coming around again as I bring my Springfield back to life.

Question: based on the map, should everything in the Springfield Heights section be moved over the mountains? It does open space in the map if you do, especially if you are like me and have a MASSIVE Stonecutters spread.

    Again, thanks in advance.

  • This is the most recent map.

I do have items that are past the mountains on the map in the Heights area. I am working on a town panorama right now and hope to upload it soon.
I do have room in my neighbor list if anyone wants to see my town. It isn't strict to the map, but it was much closer in the past.
Please message me or leave a note here if you wish to be neighbors.
    :)

I’m game for adding a neighbor, if you don’t mind the absolute fright my town currently is.

Welcome back. I recently re-did my Springfield with the land expansion following the guide. The only thing I changed as far as the mountains go, is that I moved the SF Preparatory School from mountain side to SF side. I had more room on the SF side, so I put it there. My SF Heights is a dumping ground of buildings and items that aren't on the SF guide map.
  • @EllieGuseman well I guess I should have looked back on page 13 before posting...it was YOU that put that complete list of guide buildings together!! So you were helping me out even before I knew it was you! You truly are a huge help here. Sorry for the brain fart.
  • @EllieGuseman I'd love to be your neighbour. Ign is the same as username

Sounds about where I’m heading. Only thing eating me about returning is the sheer amount of time wasting money sucking things there are in the game right now! Springfield Heights is the worst offender, but same with the World’s Largest Tree and Burns’s Pile of Gold. I need the money for land!
  • Here’s a question for you folks - what to do with stuff that is on the show, in game, but not on the map?

I’m already answering that question for myself by reviewing the episodes buildings appear in and looking for landmarks as guideposts. Sometimes, even the map can help.

    Examples:

Alley MacBalls from Four Regrettings and a Funeral. The building is actually only in one scene in a flashback to 2001(!), so it can really go anywhere, but best suited between brick buildings. Since I missed out on the Pin Pals update, it’s found a home in my Springfield across from the Bowl-a-Rama.

Burns State Prison from The Seven-Beer Snitch. This began life as the Springfield concert hall and looked like it had Springfield Park in the background. But later shots, especially when it was a prison, had it closer to town with Springfield Elementary and SNPP in the background. I chose to place it on the green garden patch below the Natural History Museum based on this.

Woosterfield Hotel from Double, Double, Boy in Trouble. This is tough since we only have one shot of the exterior and it’s an upshot of the sign. Conjecture then relies on other locations in the show. Bart is driven from the hotel to Springfield Heights, so that rules out the Heights as a home. That would also mean the hotel can’t be in a run down section of town since it’s of reasonable class based on interiors and ownership. Scanning the map, lo and behold, I found a spot that could work. On the map next to Moe’s and King Toot’s, there is a spot just marked “Hotel”. I chose this location, justifying it as a close spot Lenny would pick for his event.

I can be persuaded otherwise and would love to hear thoughts and discussions. Granted, not everyone has these buildings, so it may be irrelevant. But something to spitball anyway as my Springfield remodel continues apace.
