I think this is common, but might as well post it.
I usually use the cobblestone walls as stairs. A pic of my temple as it uses it the most.

Like Sahl, used an object to make stairs for the temple. Went with the dark wooded benches for a zen look...

Rose Arch behind the Church to look like a wreath for outdoor mass...

Gorgeous Grandpa Billboard in the Wrestling Ring, tried to make it look like it's on top of the ring like a marquee...

    I really like that.

It's just wide enough to look like the kind of steps you see at stadiums.

I put trees in front of doors and garages to make it look like houses can face north.

There is some really great stuff going on!

The snap dragon bouquet is something I hadn't seen before. Very cool combo.

Washer stairs, also something I have never seen before, very creative out-of-the-box thinking!

@ Menance thank you for sharing the pagoda, until today that too was unlike anything I had seen before. Love the pagoda idea, I find it inspiring.

I also like to use the weather stations to look like more prominent, big business type antennas:

And since the boardwalk benches came out - they make my favorite stairs. :) I am a fan.

@chrisp - you used the arch and I utilized the valentine's cozy behind a house to give the house a different feel from the other white houses. :)

    Nice idea!

Going off that, you can use trees to hide doors on double white houses...

Also in the pic, used some white fences to try to give the cobblestone walls a different look since I use a lot of them in my town

Ah I see the technique is common :) And definitely a good use of the two white houses. I can Make George Bush Sr.'s house as big as it should be now.

    Great stuff you guys.

All I have done is use the channel 6 stuff in other places.
Krustylou studios has a few small satellite dishes and 2 wx veins.

And Herman's gets as many sat dishes and wx stations the law will allow... Ya know because "they're coming"...

Use newspapers dispensers as little money slot machines in order to ride the choo choo trains by the ice cream parlour.

Yes, I am super huge fan of this technique! It really makes a neighborhood come to life for me.

I even have a couple high end homes in which I prefer the front as the back. :)

    That's awesome!

I've said this like 3 or 4 times today, but this warrants it again... I've never seen that before, great work :)

I may have to give that a try in my "Family Fun Plaza", think it'd be a great fit, if you don't mind :)
